Question about Sanyo DP42746 42 in. Plasma Television
I understand that hdmi cable has audio and video but the support person at Sanyo said I need to use the red and white cables. He didn't seem too sure of himself so I wanted a second opinion before buying 100 feet of cables. I plugged this hdmi cable into another tv set and it worked.
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

SOURCE: Unable to use PS3 on HD channel
1. Connect PS3 to your TV
2. Select the Correct HDMI input on your TV
3. Press and hold the [power] button on the PS3
4. perform setup.
These are the steps to setup the video output for the PS3, It is possible that it is set to a resolution that your TV does not support.
If this doesn't work, you may want to contact Sanyo to ask if they have some protection circuit for the HDMI input. Some manufactures TV's will deactivate(turn OFF) the HDMI input under certain conditions. Unplugging the TV or some other procedure usually turns it back ON.

There are no specific HDMI cables to buy for particular models. While there are a variety of different kinds, all should work. Your TV comes with both the Composite cable jacks and the HDMI ports. For High Definition devices, these connections should be used. Cable boxes typically use both. It is merely a matter of preference. My cable company provides Composite cables with my Digital Box, but that varies with ISP Providers. You can go to Walmart, Best Buy, or any other store local to you and pick up HDMI and composite cables. Gold plated HDMI cables are the best, but expensive. Also, the longer you buy the more expensive it is, so be sure you know just what length you need so you don't buy too long or too short of a length. I hope this helps clarify.

Connect your outdoor antenna directly to your antenna in, in your TV see if it works and do the same with your cable input if it works then the A/B box is at fault.
