Question about Sanyo DP42746 42 in. Plasma Television

Open Question

Just installed Sanyo DP50749 with hdmi cable. have picture only.

I understand that hdmi cable has audio and video but the support person at Sanyo said I need to use the red and white cables. He didn't seem too sure of himself so I wanted a second opinion before buying 100 feet of cables. I plugged this hdmi cable into another tv set and it worked.

SOURCE: Unable to use PS3 on HD channel

1. Connect PS3 to your TV
2. Select the Correct HDMI input on your TV
3. Press and hold the [power] button on the PS3
4. perform setup.

These are the steps to setup the video output for the PS3, It is possible that it is set to a resolution that your TV does not support.

If this doesn't work, you may want to contact Sanyo to ask if they have some protection circuit for the HDMI input. Some manufactures TV's will deactivate(turn OFF) the HDMI input under certain conditions. Unplugging the TV or some other procedure usually turns it back ON.

SOURCE: I ned to know what HDMI to buy for my 50inch sanyo

There are no specific HDMI cables to buy for particular models. While there are a variety of different kinds, all should work. Your TV comes with both the Composite cable jacks and the HDMI ports. For High Definition devices, these connections should be used. Cable boxes typically use both. It is merely a matter of preference. My cable company provides Composite cables with my Digital Box, but that varies with ISP Providers. You can go to Walmart, Best Buy, or any other store local to you and pick up HDMI and composite cables. Gold plated HDMI cables are the best, but expensive. Also, the longer you buy the more expensive it is, so be sure you know just what length you need so you don't buy too long or too short of a length. I hope this helps clarify.

Good Luck,

SOURCE: Sound but No Picture

Connect your outdoor antenna directly to your antenna in, in your TV see if it works and do the same with your cable input if it works then the A/B box is at fault.

Is your cable box HD? It would be best for your tv. You can hook up a couple of ways depending on your receiver and tv in/out capabilities. You will always get best picture if you go directly from your cable box out to tv in. You should have capabilty to go HDMI out and perhaps Component out on your cable box. If you can't get hd receiver from cable company. Anyway, if you use HDMI, hook to HDMI out on receiver to HDMI in on tv. HDMI provides audio and video. You can also go componenet(red, blue, green) out from recevier to in on tv. I personally feel component gives you better picture but , doesn't carry audio. For that you need to get audio using either digital optical or, composite cables. You may have to set your HD on receiver through cable boxes menu. The last option is using composite cables(last choice, poorest picture and sound) yellow(video) and red, white(audio)

My sister has just bought me a Sanyo 26 inch TV (LCD-26XR9DA) but it won't pick up SBS and ABC jumps all over the place. I have an outdoor antennae and had no problems picking up the channels on my old...

Go to the TV setup menu and autodetect all channels. This should fix it. This is assuming your Sister is not using a set-top box.

In that case, you neet to leave the set on either channel 3 or 4, or use the video/audio input jacks and leave the set on VIDEO IN. The best picture with a non-HDMI set-top box will always be with the AV OUT from the box going to AV IN on the set [the white/red (audio left/right) and yellow(video) connections].

If she is using a set-top box with an HDMI output, connect an HDMI cable to the set and select HDMI IN for the absolute best picture.

Sanyo 46" 1080.must you use hdmi cable to get best picture?

Yes. HDMI cables are the best for sound and picture quality with an hd signal at this time than anything else. A lot of people can't see much of a difference using HDMI rather than s-video, component / video, or rf cables but there is a slight difference. You will have to have an hd signal or source such as an hd sattelite receiver, an hd cable box, bluray, etc to benefit fully w/ an hdmi cable.

I wanted to connect hp dv 4 1275 laptop with sanyo tv with hdmi and 3 rca .but its not working .tried everything din work.

You MUST install HDM IDrivers for your Video Card & MotherBoard. You can only use HDMI, OR Component, but NOT BOTH. Sometimes HDMI, requires an AUDIO OUT Cable, this is the Red & White, AV Stereo input.
OR you use COMPOSITE which is YELLOW, Video, now AUDIO, is Red & White.
COMPONENT, you use, Red, Blue, Green, (ALL VIDEO) PLUS you need the Stereo AV AUDIO too, Red & White.
HDMI, should supply BOTH, but as related sometimes you need the Audio red & White AV, inputs & Outputs.
ALL Cables go color to color.

Problem using Audio 3 sound inputs for HDMI video

Normally this problem is simply a matter of selecting the correct default audio playback device in the Windows control panel (sound option).
Check the Playback tab and set the default device to either DVI or HDMI.
