Lamp is burned out or makes a popping sound. When the lamp reaches its end of life, it may burn out and may make a loud popping sound. If this occurs, the projector does not turn back on. To replace the lamp, see on page 38. LAMP light is solid amber If the LAMP light is solid amber, replace the lamp. LAMP light is blinking amber If the LAMP light and the Power light are blinking amber, the lamp driver has failed and the projector will automatically shut down. If the LAMP light is blinking amber and Power light is solid blue, the color wheel has failed and the projector will automatically shut down. Unplug the power cord after 3minutes then turn the display on again. If this problem persists, contact Dell™. TEMP light is solid amber The projector has overheated. The display automatically shuts down. Turn the display on again after the projector cools down. If the problem persists, contact Dell™. The Windows Defender Application is the Antivirus Software which will be pre-installed with the Windows Operating System(Windows Vista, Windows 7).
The Computer will always Shut down after any Windows Updates or any Operating System Updates are downloaded and installed.
If you are connected to the Internet and running Windows Defender, the Computer will automatically download the Updates for the Windows Defender Application.
Once the Updates are downloaded and installed, the Computer will prompt for a shut down.
The count down will be for 10 seconds.
After 10 seconds, the Computer will install the downloaded Updates and shut down.
This might be the reason for the Computer to shut down while using the Windows Defender.
If the Computer still shuts down randomly, the issue might be due to overheating.
All the Processors in Notebooks are designed to shut down automatically, if there is any overheating issues.
The overheating issue mainly occurs due to the malfunction of the Cooling fan.
If the Computer shuts down frequently, the issue might be due to the above factors.
It would be better to get the Unit examined at the Service Center.
It sounds like an overheating problem. The newer cpu's have a thermal shutdown sensor that automatically shuts down system if it senses a temp that is too high. Common solution would be to check your cpu/ chassis fan and see if they are working. If not replace.
It sounds like you might either have a bad power cord or you might have an over heating issue. Some times the TV will automatically shut off if it senses a fan issue or it starts to overheat.
What technology is your set? DLP, LCOS, DILA...?
If its under warranty I'd suggest to get someone out asap to take a look at it.
