Question about Kenwood KFC-W3514DVC Car Subwoofer

1 Answer

I have a Kenwood KFC-W3514DVC and its hooked up to a Valor Multimedia VPA402 500 watt 2 channel amplifier. If i want to optomize my system the cheapest way should i buy another subwoofer or should i buy a better amp. The only thing is that if i buy a new amp then i cant buy another sub. Also do you think this amp has enough power to push 2 of the Kenwood KFC-W3514DVC. Thanks

My sub has 400 watts rms and my amp powers 200 watts rms at 4ohm. Would getting another sub and powering at 2 ohms giving the amp 300 watts rms make a noticeable difference in the sound coming from the subs or do you think stick with the one sub and get a better amp?

Find the rms rating of the sub and compare it to the amp.if the rms of the amp is higher than the sub you have enough power to push the sub.if its lower look at the rms of the amp if it can be bridged.you would like to see the rms matched to the sub or subs if you have enough power.

if there is any noticeable difference it will be a small one.and you will work the amplifier harder than you are now.if you want to keep the same equipment , bridge the amp and stick with one sub.if you really want the second sub you'll need a bigger amp.ialways try to match the peak power of my amp to my subs.too small of an amp will work harder and shorten the life.

I hooked up a 2-Ohm dual voice coil 800 watt max 12" Kicker CVR subwoofer and 4-Ohm single voice coil 1000 watt max 12" Kenwood KFC subwoofer to 1000 watt Kenwood Ampilifer. After hooking it up, the Kicker...

off the same amp? you have two way different sounding speakers man. you can buy 2 identical speakers from the same company and brand and series and they will play differently every time. you have 2 speakers with nothing in common so you will hear a difference and maybe interference because of the different ohm levels.

What kind of amp do i need for 2 kicker ds6930 140 watts peak and 2 ks6930 6x9 watts peak 150 and 3 Kicker KS350 3-1/2 40 watts each peak

600 Watt to 1000 Watt 4 CHANNEL AMP for the four 6X9's and a less powerfull 4 Channel amp thats at least 200Watts to 400Watts peak for the 3 3-1/2 kicker speakers. Because if you try to connect the 3 3-1/2 speakers to only 1 4 channel amp that the 6X9 speakers are on you risk of overheating the amp and blowing the speakers too!!!

How many watts is it

Page 7 of the manual gives you all the different configurations of this amp, and it's MAX power. FYI; Kenwood rates their amps at MAX power, not clean. Hope this helps.

They are not wanting to play like they should

Hello again debrahood196,

Your KAC-5204 amp is only rated to put out 60 watts per channel and really cannot push very hard. If your subs are the KFC-W110S, they are 8ohm subs and you will get better power from the amp by using the bridged connections, positive (+) on the left channel and negative (-) on the right channel. Wire both positives and both negatives from both subs to the bridged connections and the output will be 150 watts into 4ohms. Giving each sub 75 watts should make them push a little harder.

I need to know how to wire my 2 12' kenwood w3514 dvc sub woofers parellel

For parallel connections, simply wire posotive to positive and negative to negative. But beware! this lowers the impedence (ohms) by half. In other words if you have 4 ohm woofers, in parallel they would be two ohms. Make sure your amp can handle that. Otherwise connect them in series.

Wat do i need 2 install a sound system

You can go to your local car audio store, Walmart, Circuit City and buy a Wiring Kit they go by the size of your amps ( Watts ) you can get them fairly cheap and it comes with all the wires, and fuses needed.

I hope this helps answer your question. This is the best way really to get the right cables (makes the system sound better with proper wiring) The power cable has the fuse built in as well. Feel free to leave positive feedback if this helps.
