Have a photosmart C6280 with Ink System Failure error that I have not be able to clear

    We have tried this multiple times without success. Any other suggestions?

    We already tried the reset process multiple times without success. We also tried disconnecting the white ribbons and reconnecting them and that did not work.

Try this instructions as follows without missing any step and not mistaking in following.if a mistake occurs start again.may be you have to try this couple of times but this will solve the problem. as follows 1)Follow the below steps on the front panel of the All-in-One printer: 2)A. - Press and Hold the “Print Photos” & “Red Eye Removal” buttons. Release both buttons. Display should say “Enter Special Key Combo”B. - Press and release in sequence “Red Eye Removal”, “Print Photos”, “Red Eye Removal” . 3)When the display says (enter special key combo).Then Press and release in sequence “Red Eye Removal”, “Print Photos”, “Red Eye Removal” . 4)May be you will get this on screen after step 3(uiaux Support COxxFN0723BR0) 5)Press and release the right arrow button until the display says “System Configuration Menu”. 6) Press and release the “OK” button.7) Display should say “Hardware failure status”. If not there already, Arrow Key over to “Hardware failure status. 8)Press and release the “OK” button. 9)Display should say “Hardware failure status: Clear. Press OK to clear”. 10) Press and release the “OK” Button. Message changes to “Hardware failure status Cleared. Press Cancel to continue”.
11) Press and release the “CANCEL” button as many times as necessary, so that, either the “Welcome to Photosmart Express” screen appears, or, the “Ink System Failure” screen appears. PLEASE DO NOT TRY TO PRINT AT THIS STAGE.
12) Using the Power Button, turn the unit OFF and unplug the power cable from back of the printer and wall outlet.
Wait 30 seconds for the power to get discharged and then plug the power cable into the wall outlet first and then into the back of the printer
13) Turn the unit on. The printer may display message “USE POWER BUTTON TO SHUTDOWN THE PRINTER” followed by “PRESS OK TO CONTINUE”. Press OK.
14) If the printer has already initialized, then go to the next step. If not, the printer will start the “ONE TIME INK INITIALIZATION PROCESS”. Allow this process to complete and do not interrupt. Once the initialization process is complete, the printer will print out a Diagnostic Page.
15) To verify printer functionality print a SELF TEST PAGE. or give a normal printout from pc and check. sometimes the error will occur but it will ask you to click OK. so click OK. and continue. this will help. ---------- thanks.please keep updated.please do rate the solution if helped.thank you for using fixya.

2. Press and release the right arrow button until the display says “System Configuration Menu”.

3. Press and release the “OK” button.

4. Display should say “Hardware failure status”. If not there already, Arrow Key over to “Hardware failure status

5. Press and release the “OK” button

6. Display should say “Hardware failure status: Clear. Press OK to clear”.

7. Press and release the “OK” Button. Message changes to “Hardware failure status Cleared. Press Cancel to continue”.

8. Press and release the “CANCEL” button as many times as necessary, so that, either the “Welcome to Photosmart Express” screen appears, or, the “Ink System Failure” screen appears. PLEASE DO NOT TRY TO PRINT AT THIS STAGE.

The "ink system failure" is caused by air in the ink nozzles. The clear the error you need to do a full purge of the system and the above procedure with do it.

Hello;

Try Resetting the printer

* Switch off the device
* Unplug the Power cable of the device and the usb device of the printer
* Wait 30 seconds
* Plug the power cord and usb back
* Try test print

If not solved try servicing your device

Will not print


In future, please follow these instructions and/or these to clear a paper jam on your printer.

HP Photosmart C6280 "Ink System Failure"


Hello,
The ink failure error is caused by air in the ink feed tubes in your printer. This happens when the ink in your cartridge runs out and the printer sucks up air instead of ink. This is a very common problem with this series of printer. Ink System Failure on a HP Photosmart C6280 All-in One


This is likely a cartridge problem except if the carriage is not moving at all. If you still have some of the used cartridges you can used them to trouble shoot by elimination ok. Or contact a nearby technician who has the cartriges to use them for trouble shooting. I strongly believe the one of the print carts is the culprit. Good luck
