Hi atuire,

try hooking up the lcd screen toanother computer and if it shows the same double screen again then there is aomething wrong with your lcd monitor,
you may want to use another monitor with your laptop to ensure the problem is not on the laptop's side.

if issue stays same with another monitor, then just right-click onto desktop background, goto properties and have a look whether you have enabled the shared monitor feature
(meaning that u can use two screens with just one graphics card parallel, to work on a 'wider' range of sight.
Therefore your machine's graphics card sually must be equipped with both: a standard vga out and a HDMI-out as well.)

if your machine ddoes not have these capabilities but still the monitor sharing is turned on from the software side, this might cause the problem. To disable simply change the graphics card's
propertiers as descried above.

Good luck

How to get rid of vertical lines on a packard belleasynote laptop

That's typical of a loose connection or faulty LCD cable, thankfully both options are cheap *IF* you know what your doing. I'd have an experienced person re-seat the cable on both the motherboard and LCD panel, if you still notice the issue it may be time to replace the LCD screen (which could/would be very costly if done at a professionals)

Black bars going down the screen of my vaio laptop

Hook a spare monitor to the video output usually on the back, if okay! the LCD panel display is defective, only option replace! go to www.ebay.com Type make and model of laptop, refine search to screen. However! if both show the same symptom it is the video graphics card.

I've seen this problem time and time again. Replacing the inverter fixed it every time. HOWEVER it could always be the CCFL backlight as well. Both fortunately are VERY inexpensive. Changing the inverter is easy but the CCFL will be a little harder. Take your time and remember how to put it all back together and you'll save that $100. I'm sure it's either of those two that's causing the backlight issues. NO NEED to change the entire LCD.

The first thing you can try is, connect the LCD Tv to another computer with the HDMI cable and verify it's working that way on the other pc. If it works, then the HDMI port on the Laptop might have a problem which will require Service. Troubleshooting and TIY will not fix the issue.

If the same LCD TV doesn't work on another computer, then double-check the cable and the connection. You'll be able to narrow down to the culprit and may need another LCT TV.
Is the LCD TV still working with other connections? like with your DVD Player or Cable.

Let me know the outcome.

Good luck.
Thanks for using FixYa.

Replaced the broken screen in my Acer Aspire One D150 (10 inch). It seems to work fine, except when the computer is powered off. The screen remains ON and completely white when the computer is turned off....

Sounds like your "Backlight" is not powering off.
Are you sure it is an exact replacement?
Check ALL your connections again, perhaps ya have a bad one...?
Have you got the latest drivers?

I keep getting a full white screen on my laptop, how do i get rid of it

See if it is the laptop monitor by hooking up an external monitor. If that monitor works, your laptop screen has a connection bad that might be caused by the ribbon cable (if the cable carries the common), but given the symptoms, it can almost be assumed that some type of power problem exist with the lcd layer. The screen would be all white if the common circuit is open. The screen is white because the backlight is showing - because there are no darkened lcd pixels.
In all probability the monitor itself is not bad, it just has no lcd layer power. Another problem could be in the the video board where the output to the back gives power but does not power the resident laptop screen. Most likely it is a connection though.
If you are inclined (and it is out of warranty!), carefully disassemble it and start gently pressing connectors or wiggling (careful!) the cables. Chances are, the screen will try to work. Find the bad connection this way and burnish the contacts if needed, add contact grease (smathering only) and reseat the cables.

Screen suddenly went blank except for a self test box

well in order to get rid of the self test window from your monitor... check the cable that connects your monitor to system tower & reset the connection... becase that is the only possible cause of the self test showing up on your monitor...

" as the self test option only appears when there is no video signal going from your video card to the monitor...
