Question about Maytag MSD2756GES Side by Side Refrigerator
My maytag refrigerator has been like this off and on for over a year. It gets extremely cold in the refrigerator side 20 degrees or so and freezes everything rock solid and then may go to normal for a week or 2 and then may get too cold again and then may just not cool at all like 60 degrees inside. When this happens things in the freezer side also defrost. What could be the problem?
Freezers and refrigerators use little thermostat bulbs inside the compartments in the back make sure nothing is blocking or has hit these and damaged them. this is what regulates the temp inside. Or worst case, the thermostat has gone by the wayside. But make your vents are not plugged so airflow is restricted in the back and make sure your coils underneath and backside are clean of dirt. If this is a self defrost unit make sure it is doing just that, check the drip pan underneath for water. Check the simple things first, otherwise sounds like the thermostat might be bad. sorry!
