I would replace the high/low switch and reverse switch. You can get them at http://www.shopjandl.com/kids---baby-ride-on-toys-peg-perego-switches-and-shifters.html They also have repair help to figure it out as well. hope this helps

Our kids John Deere Gator won't run despite the battery full charged. Before I replace the expensive battery, is there anything else we should look at? It's about 3 yrs old.

first of all check for at least 12 volts from the battery and the charger, you can test this using a multimeter, if the battery doesn't show any volts, lift up one side of the blue plastic housing on the top and verify that both the positive and negative wires are plugged in

Old john deere gator and battery new charger still will not move

Could be several things.  Your battery could be bad. After not being charged for a while, they do go bad- often. You may want to try a new battery along with your new charger.  You could also have a switch /connection problem. If you get a new battery and it still doesnt work, you may want to check the switches and wiring. It is not uncommon for the switch to go bad especially if it had been stored outside.
