connect the big monitor to your Lap top, then press the Fn key and hold while pressing the monitor sw. key , this key has rectangle marked shaded and not shaded.

Hello, you can try this... Connect your laptop with an desktop monitor throughVGA cable.... then Click on start>> goto control panel>> Double click on Power Option>> Under Power Scheme it should be Poratble /Laptop >> Select Never under System Standbye, Trun off Monitor and Turn off Hard Disk.
