Re: power problem

Look at right side of radio. Just above the volume knob is the keypad lock switch. Just switch it to the other postition. Should work fine.

My midland weather radio wr120 makes a loud beep about every 30 to 45 minutes. what is causing this?

I just caught mine in the act and the message was "BAD RECEPTION" - but it doesn't stay on the display very long, if you don't catch it right when it beeps, you'll miss it.

My Midland WR120 just started beeping today and I can't figure out why by looking at the Owner's Manual. It beeps every five to ten minutes, one beep. No alarm is set, I have it set to notify me...

According to Midland's support staff, this happens if the radio goes for 10 days without a weekly test signal from NOAA. To stop the beeping, simply turn off the power switch on the right side of the radio for a few seconds (if yours has it), or unplug the radio and remove one battery, wait a few seconds, then plug it back in and reinstall the battery you removed. You won't lose your settings if you have to unplug it and remove a battery, but you will have to reset the clock.

Changed all batteries and radio does not work except for the light.

Your set is not switching on and you will need to check on the power switch on circuits. Have to check if the battery voltage is going to the porcessor , please check around this stage for any signs of dry/bad soldering, use a low wattage iron to touch on , but be very careful , use a multimeter to probe the voltage in the circuit hoping to find a damaged component.check the crystal freq input. test the signal track and move on. if not your processor could be defective. I hope i could help. Good day

I believe I need to replace the internal battery for my sony walkman srfm37v as I've had it for a long time and even if I install a brand new triple A, the hold key won't go off (even by sliding the switch...

There is no internal battery on the Sony SRV-M37V. Presets are held in non-volatile RAM and don't need power to maintain the settings.

Your problem is that the hold switch is not disengaging. Either the contact below the switch has gotten gummed up and won't release, or perhaps the switch is broken.

You can try spraying a tiny (very tiny) amount of Contact Cleaner (available at Radio Shack for less than $5) into the switch. Or disassemble the unit to see why the switch isn't making contact like it should. Hope that helps!

Sangean ATS-803A - no audio

If its not a micro-p glitch, sounds like the radio was subject to a spike or surge wile plugged into the AC adapter. If the "power" light stays on all the time, thats what happened. Believe me, I was Sangean America's tech from 1990-1995.
The fix is to replace a transistor, or fet in the main pwr supply. (Close to where the adaptor plugs in.)
I wish I could give more details, but its been 14 long, long years.

Nexxtech mobile magnetic CB radio Antenna 2100972

CB radio magnet mount antennas have a protective film on the bottom to protect vehicle paint. If it is not there, it can and most likely will scratch the paint. Just be careful not to slide the magnet when you do remove it. Try to remove it stright upwards.
