How to to disassemble replace lcd

Remove the plastic or rubber bumpers that are on the plastic square that goes around the lcd screen. Normally you will see them in the 4 corners and around the middle of the plastic strip. Remove them and you will see screws that you remove then the plastic square can taken off. Use a little pressure with your fingers to pry it off.

Next remove the screws on the side of the lcd that holds it to the brackets. Tilt the lid forward to let the lcd screen fall into you hand. Don't let it fall to far forward because there is a cable in the back of it that you don't want to damage. If the lcd does not come out, it might be held by screws in the backet near the 4 corners that you will have to remove.

Remove the LCD Cable from the back of the screen. It might have a piece of tape that holds it together where it plugs in that you can lift up. Then unplug the lcd from the lcd inverter at the bottom of the lcd (two cables that plug into the lcd inverter).

I am in need of a repair manual for a Toshiba Satellite L455-S5975 laptop in order to replace the LCD screen. I have searched everywhere, but no luck. Does anyone have a source? Thank you.

Not sure if you will find one... Process on toshibas is:

Pop top cover (sometimes also secured with a few screws on side or bottom of laptop) near monitor base above keyboard to access LCD cable and mount screws
Unplug cable and remove monitor mounting screws (Under plate, on back where cables plugin, and sometimes on bottom)
Take monitor (on flat surface) and remove screw covers with needle so you can put them back on later.
Remove all screws
Use plastic credit card and run around outside lip of screen case until removed
Remove LCD mounting screws
Remove LCD and inverter
Remove LCD brackets and inverter from panel
Replace panel and start working backwords.
