Question about Sewing Machines

Have a rhoomba 500 series. One of the cliff sensors evidently got liquid inside it and the white or i suppose the led receiver diode broke off at the base. Is there a way to bypass this sensor, like shorting out this receiver to the computer or where and what kind of new diode or where do i buy a new rhomba cliff sensor assembly if i have to.

I have a viking 980. The decorative stitching does not work. I have no manual. Can any one tell me how to use these stitches. I think I may have just forgotten what to do.....:( Thanks! ChampionChicka

If the decorative stitches you are talking about are on the card that you insert into the machine, the problem can be that the sensor is not seeing the white squares on the bottom of the card itself. Take white paint or a white out liquid paper and "paint" the white squares at the bottom of the card but only the white squares. That will help the sensors "see" which card you have inserted. If that doesn't do it, your sensors are bad and they are not available. Make sure the paint is dry before you put the card back into the machine.

My led light is fading out and it is getting hard to see my stitches. Alexis

light emitting diodes will fade out over time. That is just something they do.The only fix short of increasing the voltage fed to the led is to put another one in there. If you feel brave you can find the resistor that is in series with the diode, and replace it with one that is slightly smaller. This will increase the current feeding the diode making it brighter.

I'm looking for a price for a White #228 by Jaguar.

I purchased that same machine in 1993 for $800. The White Superlock 2000 ATS sergers were supposed to be the new deluxe model but it turns out that they didn't really work as well as they were intended to. In the years since then all of these sergers were being sold by liquidators. The current price is usually less than $200. for a new machine still in the box. Hope this info helps.

Want pick up my bobbin

re-thread the top thread

when putting in the bobbin, make sure you put it in right,

hold the bobbin between you thumb and first finger of your right hand when you pull the thread with left hand it should rotate the bobbin counter clockwise.

If you run your machine all day you need to clean under the bobbin case,

Take the cover plate off, take out the bobbin case and clean under, i take a q-tip with machine oil and rub around the inside of the metal case and around the bobbin case,

replace the plastic bobbin case making sure it's in right, turn the hand wheel by hand, the case should stay still and the inside will move, the needle should not hit anything

put all back together and try again

if the bobbin turns clockwise you are going to have problems

if this helps please rate it
good luck
