Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. For servicing the installing the clutch you’ll need to first remove the gear case and then remove the old clutch assembly to install anoyher one.

The gear case can be removed by first removing the outer cabinet. After removing the cabinet, remove the pump and motor assembly. Now carefully lay down the washer on its back and remove the 3 bolts securing the gear case. Now pull the gear case straight out from the tube support assembly. Now, compress the clutch spring with a pair of pliers and lift the lining from the clutch hub. To remove entire clutch assembly begin by removing the spin tube thrust washer up & off the agitator and then remove the tube support ring. Remove the retainer ring and lift the clutch hub up and off spin pinion.

Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or else revert for further assistance.

Thanks
Rylee

Whirlpool Ultimate Care II LSQ8543JQ0, the washer fills will water on all cycles but does not do a wash, drain or spin.

This is usually caused by the lid switch. These are inexpensive and easy to replace. There are videos at www.appliancehelponline.com/servicemanual.html that will walk you thru testing and replacing this part. It may be a different model but the testing will be the same. You can also enter your model # for diagrams and illustrations of your specific model. All parts come with installation instructions. Not all models are available.

Whirlpool Ultimate Care II washer won't spin clothes more dry than soggy

Tip the washer backward, inspect the bottom of the gearcase for oil. If oil is present, the oil has migrated to the clutch causing it to slip during spin. The gearcase and clutch will have to be replaced if oil is present. Check the owners manual for limited warranty on the gearcase. If oil is not present, the clutch is just worn and should be replaced.

Whirlpool Ultimate care 2 (ABOUT 4 YEARS OLD)

Sounds like the clutch is slipping but sometime catching. Or maybe the transmission is almost gone. Is there a burning smell? If so, probably clutch.
