No activation number for phone

To unlock it from a provider, you need a sim from the provider and an unlock code from them. They won't give out any code for a stolen phone. There are sites on the net, that give out codes for a fee. It is not legal, so you won't find it easy, and not every code they sell works.

you should be able to purchase them over the phone. Or go to a store and get a card or verizon.com

Sadly you cannot bypass this part. You need to call Verizon tech support for this problem. They are the ones who gave your the number and they should be able to easily give it back to you. You just have to give them some personal details for security checks.

I have this phone through Verizon. It does not have a sim card...Verizon phones don't use them. They use a serial number inside to activate the phone.

the default is always one of these code try them all the last four digits of the phonenumber last programmed in the phone aka your number or 9999,1234,4321,0000,1111 if none of those work you can go the retail store for a flash they hook it to the computer and push software to the phone to correct the issue it takes five mins and its free its a common issue for them to correct if you change your lock code from the default in the future always set up a dummy contact with it in there so that you can easily look it up also please vote for me I'm trying to work my way up to expert level and I cant without your vote please

well first if all, (correct me if i'm wrong) you cannot dial *228 because you're only supposed to use that for updating your phone AFTER you have activated it, I activated mine online. You should try that.
