Built in water softener

really don't know have you got the manual. Normally you have to test the water ph level and then adjust the dish washer to that ph level and then fill the salt reservoir. Not sure on your model of dish washer . However you could add a water softener to the water inlet to the dish washer . Just search for
Water softener device

Hot water is not very hot incoming, I know it worked on old washer, and then when rinse cylce is filling, it does fill up to the cycle chosen, it only puts a little bit of water in teh tank, then I have to...

It sounds like you may have sediment in your water which has clogged the water inlet valve which has a screen filter. Check the hose where it connects to the water supply and where it connects to the washer. If the valve isn't working right you can swap the hot and cold water and see if it's the valve causing the problem.

The pressure switch tube may be stopped up not letting the water level go to the selected level. It's connected to the switch by the tube which runs down into the drum between the outside and inside drum. You may can blow on it to see if it's working and unclog it.

Dishwasher leaves residue on dishes. Salt levels seem fine, rinse aid ok, and cleaning block is released fine.

Hi

White film deposits are observed if water is hard or when you are using more detergent than needed, try filling detergent cup half way. Try using white vinegar after the wash cycle is complete, run a complete cycle. Also turn down the heat on the hot water fed to the dishwasher. Try using water softener for better results.
You can also add vinegar in the final rinse cycle. Make sure that your soap dispenser drawer is opening and closing fine.

Hope this helps... Please post back if more information is required.

Panel lit and motor running but will not cylce

It's almost certainly the case that something has started leaking in the bottom of the dishwasher (a seal or hose) and has filled the bottom catch pan with water. There is a float in the pan which will trip the unit into a mode where the pump turns on to flush out all the water inside the unit to avoid overflowing the pan and causing much more damage (to the subfloor and anything on lower stories or basement). As long as you have the unit turned on, the pump will run to flush out water. Until the catch pan is purged or enough water dries up.
At any rate, somebody needs to look at why the catch pan is filling up with water.
