Same smart drive 601, water will stop geting in after a few seconds of 'normal' water's the first time...I think is the valve (12v)...but could be the pump?...cause...why both valves (cold and hot) will stop working the same day...anyway...should I change the clod valve at least? many thanks Pedro

in that case the machine will start after stop, isn't it? instead it keeps trying to fill with water with small 'shots' and then long 'trouble' beep! till I turned off.
Then, filled manually and try to drain and spin, the spin also goes in short 'tries' and then long beep...
will check better, tomorrow, the water level control.
    Many thanks

If you mess with any of the electrical, or electronic components- UNPLUG the washer!!
not being familiar with this model- i can say that sometimes a small article of clothing can get into the pump and effect the drainage. water in is usually controlled by solenoids- 1 for hot, 1 for cold. depending on your temp. setting. if you have 'hard' water at your home, and an old water heater, mineral 'chips' can build up in the filter at the hot water side of the valve, and possibly the cold water side. turn off the water supplies to both sides and remove the hoses and check for clogged filter screens.
if they're cruddy clean them.
You also may have a loose or corroded electrical connection to the ground side of your inlet valves. this usually involves removing the back panel of the machine.and examining the wiring to the water valves. UNPLUG the washer!! If you don't have a Ground Fault Interrupter (GFI) in your laundry room, then i advise you have one installed!
hope this helps!

I have a toshiba satellite laptop, and the keyboard sucks! sorry toshiba!
If you have shut-offs for the hot & cold water supplies, make sure they're fully on! the input valves rely on water pressure to hold them open. your water level control may have a tube running from it to somewhere on the lower outside non-spinning water container. if the tube is damaged, disconnected from the water level control or the drum connector the valves will close if they think the washer is filled to the level you've set.
As i've stated before- UNPLUG the machine!!
    Good Luck Pedro!

My F&P smart drive 601 washing machine is spinning but not draining. Once machine has turned off i select spin it works fine, what is happening?

It sounds to me like your drain/fill switch is malfunctioning. Under your washer you will see a rather small solenoid control valve that has 2 hoses connected to it. it is a very easy to replace item if you have a flat blade screwdriver and a pair of regular pliers. you must unplug your washer first, then tip your washer back so that you may gain access to the valve. once you have access, unplug the wire/s going to the valve. The valve should be located in the right rear area of your washer, if you are looking at it from the front. you will need to remove the 2 tubes connecting it to your washer also. This is a very common part to have to replace on Fisher and Paykel washers, and can easily be ordered from most parts houses or even from the company itself in New Zealand. This part, when malfunctioning, will stop your washers from working due to the fact the Fisher and Paykel operates by use of sensors that are connected to the main controller, located under your keypad area. When this valve fails, it does not allow the tub water to be pumped out, thus interfering with the normal operations of the machine. The sensor sends a signal back to the main control, telling it there is still a prohibitive amount of water in the drum to be able to proceed to the next stage, so it simply stops and goes into error mode and typically either flashes lights and/or makes an electronic noise of some nature. I have personally replaced 7 of these diverter valves in different model Fisher and Paykel machines, and each time the machine has gone right back to normal operation and all still work to this day. Remember when ordering to ask for the diverter valve assembly.

The smart drive 708 on any wash cycles has poor water the water seems to be filling up very slowly and the normal wash cycle takes 2hrs

Hi Challe340, Sounds like your machines Inlet solinoid valve that supplys water to your machine may have a clogged internal diaphagm, its quite normal for it to clogg up due to high sediment build up in the water mains over the years and seeing that the machine is a smart drive 708 it probly hasnt had inlet replacement in it entire life. As for the normal wash cycle taking so long could be due to restriction in water flow from the faulty inlet valve slowing down the water fill segments in its rinsing cycle stage, hope this help.

Fisher & paykel smart drive 601, power to board, won't fill

If it isn/t doing anything at all it could be a faulty start switch on the display panel. Also make sure you can hear an audible click when you open and close the lid. The lid switch on a 601 is actuated on the right hand back of lid adjust as required. Hope this helps.

Hey there. I've had the same problem recently. It would fill slowly, and then after a while, it wouldn't fill at all. So I got some a new valve. it cost about $NZ30 delivered. You'll need one each for hot and cold. You can get parts from I think the part you need is 426142. you can check an image of it on the website. Good luck.
