I had similar problem with Motorola and Blackberry Perl. It seems that the device may have been used or demoed at the store, and had to be re-set to factory defaults. The procedure is simple.

  1. Make sure that the device is OFF
  2. Press and hold Volume UP and green ON buttom at the same time
  3. After reset, power the device OFF and wait for approximately 10 seconds
  4. Power the device ON, select a language, and follow voice prompts to complete pairing

Make sure that "visability" is on, on your phone. Your device will need to "see it" in order to pair.
The factory reset is what my unit needed. I doubt it was ever a demo, so apparently the code can inadvertanly, or spontaneously changed, and the unit needs to be reset

The ST3 doesn't pair with the Curve...Why??? It pairs with the 8830. Is there a security feature that needs to be enabled?

To connect iphone 4 to Blueant when its not responding, try turning off the Blueant using the Green MFB. Once it has powered down hold the green MFB and either one of the volume control buttons until a siren sound goes off. The voice will say a few things and then it should be reset. Turn off again and then back on again and it should be ready to discover your phone.

Im trying to pair my iphone with my blueant but it keeps saying (make sure blueant st3 is turned on in range and ready to pair)

First off the device you are referring to is a ST3 and not a Z9. What you need to do is put the device into pair mode prior to searching in your iphones bluetooth menu, to do this with the device off hold down the green button until you hear a language loop. When you hear the language of your choice let go of the green button and press it once right away. You will hear a message about your phones bluetooth menu, when you hear that go to your Iphones bluetooth menu and select the ST3 and it should work.

Regards,

Rylan

Having trouble pairing phone with Blue Ant ST3

  1. If the Supertooth 3 is on, turn it off by holding down the green Multi-Function button for about 5 seconds (until you hear a voice announce "BlueAnt ST3 powering down").
  2. Hold down "Vol " and the green Multi-Function button until you hear a loud siren/distinctive tone.
  3. The Supertooth 3 will turn on. Hold down the green Multi-Function button for about 5 seconds to turn it off again.
  4. The Supertooth 3 has now been reset: all pairing and other information has been deleted. When you turn the Supertooth 3 back on again it will prompt you to select a language and then go into pairing mode.
You will now need to re-pair your phone with your Supertooth 3.

I am trying to connect my blackberry storm to my blueant ST3. It asks me to enter my passcode, but when I do, nothing happnes and keeps asking to try again.

initially check whether both the devices are compatible when your pair them. Then try to give the same passkey on both the devices like 1234 in your blackberry and also same 1234 on your blueant ST3 and check.

My g3 iphone says blue ant st3 password incorrect but it's the only one they give you...won't connect with my phone

Hi - I had the same problem setting up my 3G S. Here's the solution. In "Settings/General" set the Bluetooth to "ON". Turn your ST3 OFF by holding the green button until she says it's Powering Down. Now press and hold the green button ON until Language Selection (British English) option. Select language by pressing green button again. Next she will say "Device Found-Paring Successful-Enter password 0000". Enter 0000 and your phonebook will start downloading. There ya go!
