Can't install driver for Hanns-G HW191D monitor I downloaed the driver (HW191d.inf), installed it with infinstall.exe, have it listed as oem0.inf (pnputil -e), but the monitor is not listed in the device manager. Hence I can't use the display properties to set the right resolution 1440x900 with windows by default non-p&p monitor. How can I "force" windows to list the monitor? Thanks Michel

Mine had the same problem. Sometimes it worked, sometimes it didnt. It really annoyed me. I tested my PC on another monitor, it was fine. I checked my monitor on another PC, it worked fine. We eventually found out it was just the VGA cable. So i would advise just trying another VGA or DVI cable and see if it works.

First, flip the switch for your power surge protector, to see if that resolves. Then, test the monitor on another computer and see if it works. If the monitor still doesn't work, look for another one. Hope that helps.

There is a flourescent light that backlights the screen. If your screen brightness control will not make the screen any brighter, then the backlight has stopped working. You will either have to replace that light or replace the monitor.
