What type and size memory card? The A620 works with MMC and SD cards, 2GB or smaller. It will not work with higher-capacity SDHC cards.

Canon IXUS 970 IS will not recognise 2GB SD card although it used to do so

The memory card might have been damaged. If it was a problem with your camera it might not have recognized your 32k sd card.
So buy a new sd card.

I have a Konica minolta with 512 MB memory. How much more memory of SDhc/SD card can it use as it is unable to use 4GB SDHC card. Thanks.

The Z1 uses SD cards, which top out at 2GB. SDHC cards do not work with this camera, as you've already found out.

I cannot insert my Transcend SD 2 GB memory card in the camera. Is there only 1 type of memory card that can be inserted?

Make sure there's nothing in the slot, and you've got the card oriented properly. The i1237 works with SD and SDHC cards. The Transcend 2GB SD card should work fine.

I have a Kodak EasyShare C330. I have a new memory card Kodak SD Card 128MB. When I insert it in the camera, a message displays stating memory full. When I try to format the card to the camera I received...

This error message means that the card is corrupted or formatted for another digital camera. Turn off the camera. Insert a new card or format the card.
Try to format the memmory card using a card reader and the PC this should solve your problem if not you have to replace the memmory card.

New 4G memory card states full have re-formatted but still shows full. Have tried a 2G card but that is ok to use any ideas please

Your new 4GB card is an SDHC card. The S700 works with MMC and SD cards. While SDHC cards will fit into the slot, they are electronically incompatible and will not work. You need to go with cards 2GB and smaller.

I have tried a new sd card for more memory and it reads card error with every new card i try i've tried 3 different cards now and the original still works so i know the reader works but it just doesnt...

You won't be able to use a card larger than about 1GB (maybe 2GB) in this camera. "SD" cards larger than 2GB are actually SDHC cards. SD and SDHC cards fit the same slots, but they are slightly different electrically. Many cameras won't work with SDHC (high capacity) cards. SDHC is not backwards compatible.

I have a 4GB PMY Optima memory card and my camera keeps advising of a memory card error. It says that the memory card is locked. Please advise. Thanks!

Your problem is that you have purchased an incompatible memory card and it's confusing your camera as it is unable to read it correctly.

You have a 4GB SDHC card, but your camera can only use the earlier specification SD cards up to a maximum capacity of 2GB. SDHC cards will fit in the slot, but your camera cannot use them and cannot be updated to use them; the limitation is one of hardware so there is no way to update it via revised firmware.

You have just two ways to fix this: use a 2GB SD card up to 2GB maximum, or change your camera to a later model which is SDHC compliant. Note that SDHC compliant devices can use both SD and SDHC cards without any problem.

I hope that you have found my reply to be comprehensive, informative and useful and that you now have a solution to your problem. Please take a moment to rate my answer.

Bought new sdhc memory card and it reads memory card error please help

The A620 is designed to work with SD cards, not SDHC cards. SDHC cards will fit into the slot but are electronically different. You'll have to stay with SD cards, 2GB and smaller.

Card has wrong format?

The first thing you will have to check the card. There is slot on the card that contains a switch. This will lock the card so that it is write-protected. This will cause the unsupported card error.

If the card looks fine, try a card reader just to confirm that the card has not been corrupted.

If the card is functional and you can read its contents from the PC or another SD-slot device, then the issue is your camera. The slot contains thin copper prongs that comes in contact the copper surface on the back of the SD card. If the prongs are bent or damage, then the camera cannot read your card.
