My Olevia 232-S12 TV has a ghost in the machine. The menu icon and input indicator regularly flash on the screen back and forth. Sometimes it is very fast, sometimes slow, sometimes intermitent. I have digital cable and have tried hooking up through the coax and the composite lines with no relief. Is there anything I can do?

hi, here is just a suggestion have you tried using a DVD player or any other source using the video input? if the picture is OK , same with the sound quality then maybe , there is something in the box that is causing the ghost images. have you tried using the box on other TV? if it is good on other TV then perhaps it is really on the TV.

Its possible that the buttons on the set are leaking or if cleaning spray (windex, etc) got down into the buttons it can cause them to corrode, which will also cause this problem, and they will need to be replaced. Worst case would be if the main control board is bad, That could be more expensive, depending on the repair shop fees.

My Olevia 232 s12 tv seem to have blown out, my daughter used a hair dryer while the air was on the electricity stop. used the circuit breaker everything came back on except the tv. fix it or toss it.

If your comfortable doing it take the back off and check the main power fuse on the power supply, replace it if blown but it may blow again, if it does the rectifier in the hot side of the PS board is shorted and needs replacing or it will need a new power supply board...Good luck!

I have a olevia model 232-s12 tv has sound but no pics I checked power supply all checked ok I turn tv on sometimes picture would work image may be very cracky so I assumed it was a tcon board replaced...

Good day.

If you already replaced a new inverter board and T-con board and the problem is still there.Try to play the video on the DVD,if the video is OK check the cable connection and try to run auto scan.
If the problem is still there check the input supply of the system board or main board it should have 5vdc and 12vdc,if it is OK replace the system board.

TV tuner

Bill, did your tuner go out? I have had the same television for one year. We had a storm and our Buckeye cable went out. All the other tvs came back fine except for the room with the Olevia 232-S12. Everything works now except for the tuner. Cable came in and installed a converter box. Just wondered if you had the same problem (not the storm, but the tuner)
