Sounds like the files explorer is failing to load. Boot the computer with the install disc and choose repair. Follow the prompts.

I keep getting a service hang report, it says HP CUE DeviceDiscovery failed upon startup. When I go to windows reports and solutions it says a minidump.MDMP error.

change the following services.

Click on the Start button, then type "services.msc" in the "run" dialog box and click OK.
in case of vista/win7 type it in "start & search" box(you can find it once you click on windows logo)....

Set as "Automatic" the startup type for:
-Windows Firewall

Set as "Manual" the startup type for:
-HP Network Devices Support
-HP CUE DeviceDiscovery Service

you can right click on the particular service and click on properties....then change the startup type....
this issue will fix for sure....

pls do rate if its found useful...

Dwwin.exe-application error. The instruction at "0x0013ff7" refrenced memory at "0x00000013". The memory could not be written. The computer will not load any icons on the desk top just frozen their

dwwin.exe is Microsoft Application error Reporting. You may have a problem with a background program starting at Startup. May want to look at items on the Startup tab in msconfig.
Start,
Run, then type msconfig remove any program that you do not need at the start up or the last one you installed

Rundll32.exe error

what that means is that your computer is sending shutdown commands to all the apps running in the background and they arent responding fast enough. its nothing serious or anything that will cause problems BUT if you want to get rid of it, do some googling on cleaning up your computer's startup routine with msconfig. turn off everything but your antivirus and the problem will most likely go away.

When I turn my computer on, I get a runtime error.

Clean Boot with Only MoSearch loadTOCNode(2, 'resolution'); The Mosearch.exe (Microsoft Office Search Service) and Mosdmn.exe (Microsoft Office 10 Search Filter Daemon) Startup items may be conflicting with some other program (or programs) running in the background. Therefore, clean boot your computer with only MoSearch selected on the Startup menu to determine whether this program is the source of the conflict. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. Click Start, and then click Run.
  2. In the Open box, type msconfig.exe, and then click OK.
  3. On the General tab, click Selective startup.
  4. On the Startup tab, click to clear all check boxes except for MoSearch.

NOTE: In Microsoft Windows Millennium Edition (Me), leave the *StateMgr check box selected as well.
  5. Click OK, and then click Yes when you are prompted to restart the computer.
  6. If the error message can be reproduced, repeat the preceding steps. In step 3, also click to clear the Process System.ini file and Process Win.ini file check boxes.
If the error message cannot be reproduced, this indicates that MoSearch is conflicting with some other program or programs running in the background. Follow these steps to locate the conflicting program:
  1. Click Start, and then click Run.
  2. In the Open box, type msconfig.exe, and then click OK.
  3. On the Startup tab, click to select one of the check boxes.
  4. Click OK, and then click Yes when you are prompted to restart the computer.
  5. If the preceding steps reproduce the error message, the last item added to the Startup menu is causing the conflict. If the error message is not reproduced, repeat these steps until all Startup menu check boxes are selected.
  6. If all the Startup menu check boxes are selected and the error message is still not reproduced, start Msconfig again, and then click to select the Process System.ini file and Process Win.ini file check boxes.
If this doesn't fix it, let me know and I'll post another, more advanced repair.

Good luck, and please let me know how you do.

Wierd problem

It sounds like a program you have installed is having an error on startup. Dwwin.exe is the executable for Dr. Watson, an error reporting program that comes with windows. Errors like this usually raise a red flag with me, and the first thing I always do is scan for spyware and viruses. If you don't already use them, I would suggest using Spybot - Search and Destroy, as well as Ad-Aware SE for spyware, and Panda Activescan and Trend Micro Housecall for online virus scanning. (using multiple programs is always a good idea so nothing slips by.) Next, I would check your startup programs to see what is there to determine what could be generating an error. Your computer could also be missing critical updates that could solve many problems (as well as scan for malicious software if you are using windows XP). You should run windows update through the menu in internet explorer. Methods for these solutions depend on which operating system you are using. If you need any further help, give a list of all your startup items and which OS you are using and I (or someone else) can give more detailed instructions.
