Hello i have a 50 inch plasma tv and cannot hook my toshiba satellite laptop up to it via a D cable. Get message that mode is not supported. Help!

Hello,

Please set the output resolution of the Laptop to something within the range of the TV.

On the laptop desktop, change the "settings" of the 2nd monitor to 1024 x 768.

You should then get a picture, once you have the picture you can increase the resolution to the one you want.

If you have the TV manual you can check and see what it will accept.

It doesn't. This is a "monitor". The best input for sat or cable TV is via the component (red, green blue) input or possible the DVI.

You would have to hook up an external TV antenna on the UHF/VHF band and run a coaxial cable from the antenna to the TV and plug in the "Belling-Lee" connector into the "Antenna" socket at rear of unit.. This should enable reception via "Normal TV"

Hooking a laptop to a lcd tv

If your LCD TV has VGA input, then you can buy a cable that goes vga out of laptop to VGA in of TV... Also you can get an audio cable that goes from line out of your laptop to 2 rca jacks for your TV...

Radio Shack sells both types of cables - and you can also buy them from many online retailers if you look for video or audio video cables... I got a paired set from pcconnection.com
