Question about Epson Stylus Pro 9600 InkJet Printer
Been having minor problems with Pro Stylys 9600 and was going to try to get maintenance done soon, but now we have a service required 10005 error. I saw the other post about 10004 and error code 40 but wasn't sure if they would be any help or not and don't want to make matters worse. We were getting more and more banding problems, some smudging like the ink head was shifting somehow to the right and some other problems. Now, it won't do anything.
Problem now is: After opening front cover and blowing off with canned air to help resolve earlier problems, printer gave message "paper out" even though paper had not moved. Turned off and turned on, print head trying to move but hear click and it can't move as it's trying to. Then, all lights flash and "service requireed error 10005". We did notice small piece on spring moving but we don't know if that's by design or part of the problem. Unfortunately I also don't know what that part is called. Epson Service is closed weekends, what do we do???
Check here -- there are two links depending on printer model they both reference an 10005 error code.

Tips for a great answer:
In most cases the printer driver software can have errors while being in use or is shut down. So to reset remove your printer from the PC and uninstall the printer software. Now reinstall the printer software and then connect the Printer to be detected as a new hardware as it will be installed. Now check the printer properties to see the ink levels.
Activate head cleaning before a test is taken . Sometimes it is possible that the head is not reacting to the need of the PC command or can be an issue with ink drying or poor ink cartridge contacts. Sometimes the power supply unit must be checked as a poor SMPS unit can deliver low voltage and cause issues to the printer function. Check all the leads and connections of the mother board , the tags to the ink cartridge. Also check the mechanical settings of the ink cartridge , if jammed or tight remove motor and manually free the drive before it is set back.
