You will be needing a scratch be gone kit.

Assess the damage. Determine if this is a deep scratch or a surface scratch, by running your finger across it. If you can actually feel the indentation, you have a deep scratch, gouge or ding. With clamps, carefully hold a small piece of dry ice over the gouged area. Hopefully,it will pop out, and not be as noticeable. Then you can treat it in the same way other scratched areas are treated in the steps below.

Use an abrasive pad from the Scratch-B-Gone kit to repair scuffs, light scratches and even deep scratches. The kit has 4 different abrasive pads and instructions to tell you which one to use depending on the severity of the scratches and scuffs. Otherwise, go to an automotive shop and buy different fine grades of sandpaper.

Apply a small amount of Ultra Shine from the Scratch-B-Gone kit onto the appropriate abrasive pad. Or use an automotive rubbing compound on the sandpaper.

Begin rubbing the damaged area of the satin in the direction of the grain covering over about a 5-inch area at a time. Slide the pad backward and forward increasing pressure as needed until you see the scratch is disappearing.

Repeat this process until the scratch is removed and the surface is restored. For a deeper scratch, dry rub the area with the coarse pad, and wipe area off with a microfiber cloth to make sure the scratch is gone.

Blend the metal surfaces by using the finest grade sandpaper or abrasive pad with the rubbing compound or Ultra Shine and gradually increase the area around the original damage to about three times the original scratched area. Be sure to go with the existing grain of the material so you don't create crosshatching.

If the scratch is on the smaller side and not a deep gouge, you should be able to obtain touch-up paint for the appliance. These products are usually available at Sears appliance parts depots or more generically at home improvement stores.

How to Remove scratches outside refrigerator door

This tip is only for small scratches which are like hair sized one not more than that,If you have deeply scratched panels, you have to hire a professional to refinish them.

Today most of the refrigerator door come in stainless steel based plastic door. You can easily remove the small scratches on these door.

Steps to be followed:

1)Take white cloth and it should be a soft and dry one.

2)Buy stainless steel polish and squirt it on a small cloth and rub over the scratched area.So that it will get pasted over it.
3)Rub in one angle and in same direction.

4)Now rub the scratch with scouring pad over the surface of the polished scratch.

5)Buff with a clean cloth and remove the small particles so that it wont make more scratches.

6)Wait for 3 hours and take some water dipped cloth and wipe on it.

Knob does not come out all the way into the door frame for closure. why?

Most common reason for this is the hole its going into on the frame is either not deep enough and/or the hole and strike plate/larch are not properly aligned (i.e. its hitting the side of the wood etc.,).

My son used a magnet on the black door and made a several scratches

If the scratches aren't deep, you can try auto POLISH to remove them. NOT rubbing compound. If they are deep, you can hide them with car wax.

Scratch on the front panel, how do we repair. Does it have to be replaced?

Scratches aren't an easy or inexpensive fix. However, if, like most appliances, your's has a protective clear coat on it, you can try using a small applicator (like a Q-tip swab, etc.) and a very, very light amount of clear lacquer and lightly dab it onto the scratch and quickly wipe off the excess with a clean, lint free, cloth.

You can buy a can of clear aerosol lacquer that closely matches the type of finish on the fidge panels, (matte, satin, gloss).

The trick is to NOT spray directly onto the panels, but rather spray a small amount into the cap of the aerosol and using the swap, dip it into the liquid and, again, dab it lightly onto the scratch.

Another option is to purchase one of those automotive scratch repair kits that you see advertised on TV or in auto parts stores and follow the directions for fixing the scratch.

If you take your time and go lightly and carefully with the application, you can get a pretty decent repair that will make the scratch all but disappear. If it's also dented, then you've got another issue to deal with, but in any event, attempting a repair of the scratch will cost you hundreds of dollars less than buying a replacement door panel.

I hope you find this Very Helpful and best regards!

Repair scratches on black door front

Mr....other than repainting, the only suggestion I have is one of those scratch repair kits that they sell at Pep Boys. The finish materials...paints...not stainless...are about the same as used on cars. Use a soft lambswool bonnet buffer and go slow.

If it is stainless...use 00 steel wool in a one directional sweep with a little bit of light oil.

good luck, sir.
