Flashing water light - will drain water but will not make coffee

When I try to make coffee, it starts grinding and making noise (I think the pump), but then right when the coffee normally comes out, nothing happens. I can turn the knob and water comes out and it's acting as if that's completign the brew process. It will dispense water anytime

Our Saeco SUP012R has following problem:the red droplet light is on with enough water in the tank;it starts blinking when we empty the tank. The manual says that when the light blinks:empty the water tank via the "hot water/steam pipe which gives a strong flow, stops automatically after about 12 seconds but no result. we have decalcified the machine and cleaned completely precautionnary. We have also restarted as described for setting the water hardness. When trying to make coffee, the cyclus starts but stops with just a very little bit of coffee in the cup.The red water droplet still keeps blinking with water in the tank.Would be grateful for advice, thanks,Paul Daemen

I had the exact same issue with my Magic de luxe with it acting as if the coffee is complete but not getting anything in the cup. I followed the advice in the previous entry and just ran the water and the issue was resolved - thankyou so much! :-)

I have a similar problem with my Saeco Magic Deluxe only it is very intermittent. I especially notice this phenomenon after initially turning the machine on. As strange as it may sound, I find that if I leave it on for several hours it eventually starts working? For this reason I usually leave the machine on 24/7 because I fear if I turn it off it might not work again. This also I fear can't be good for the machine in the long run. I can't see how this problem is grinder related as it will do the same premature cycle termination even when the bypass doser function is used without any coffee …basically as you would do to send clean water through a brew cycle. It's less frustrating to know others have similar problems ...unfortunately I have yet to see any definitive answers. I'm beginning to think there may be an electrical problem that is interfering with the brew cycle. If anyone else has any valuable input it would be much appreciated.

    Thanks

the machine will grind, the seriese of lights become illuminated, then a moist espresso cake is deposited into the drawer- nothing comes out of the dispenser.

Something is wrong on the coffee cycle side of the machine. Check the brew unit screens and and try doing a preground cycle with out inserting coffee. IF water comes out, I would looking into your grinder a little bit and try increasing the grinder size.

Start light flashing, rince light on.machine will not start cycle

Hello. I really need the make/model number to help you accurately. However, from the symptoms you're describing, it sounds like the drain pump is jammed. A lot of dishwashers turn on the drain pump first to remove any stagnant water sitting in the bottom of the pump. Then, fresh water is let into the tub, fills to the proper amount, then the main pump starts. The lights flashing are an error code--different combinations of buttons flashing mean different things. On some models, a button light will flash a certain number of times, pause, then flash another number of times. This is a binary code telling the user what is malfunctioning. That's why I need the model number and any other info to help diagnose the issue. Thanks!

Loud drilling noise when coffee switch is turned on - rather than the usual purring noise - and no coffee delivery either

How old is your machine ? and what maintenance have you done over time such as replacing the shower curtain located at the pourring end of the hot water ? I had too very loud noise coming occasionnally from the stainless steel rack holding the cup while coffee is delivered. If your ground coffee is too fine it will stop flow during making a shot. Is water coming out when no coffee is placed in the portafilter. The water pump on this machine is a cheap pump that has to be replaced over time. Mine is 7 years old and has delivered four cups of expresso everyday of the year, and still working.3841c994-fb4b-459f-8d1f-710e0aafc3c0.jpg 2ead4f70-37c6-4236-a9c2-992dba149c4c.jpg

Coffee not brewing after grinding

After grinding did you hear the brew group goes up and pump start? If you hear the pump start and stopped, itis blockage in the brewunit metal screen. Just needs cleaning.
If you don't hear the pump starting, the problem is with the faulty micro switch inside the gearbox , that is behind the plate of brewunit.(service center job)

No coffee is coming out of the machine...

in our machine we wanted a stronger coffee so we adjusted the auto grinder (where the coffee beans are housed) to the finest setting thinking the finer the grind the stronger the coffee...after doing this the machine wouldnot make coffee...we sent it away while still under warranty and the tech said that the grind selection was too low so they just turned the grinder back up a notch and it worked fine ....dont know if this will help but it's worth a try!

Water pump not working

Can you please try firstly making a "Pre ground Coffee" on your coffee machine by selecting the pre ground button and making a coffee without coffee in the bypass.

If that doesnt work, let me know.

If it does, open slide the grinder right up to the coursest setting and see if water comes through.

Once again if that doesnt work let me know.

Part 2 -Flashing water light - will drain water but will not make coffee

Blinking light often means pump is not delivering water. Possible blockage from corrosion. Can also mean a valve blocked.
Do you hear the pump run?
