Screen displays message saying "cover


It could be that the cover sensor is stuck or could also be due to the cartridges in the printer. Please follow the steps below on how to identify and fix the problem:
  1. Remove the sheets of paper from the feeder.
  2. Open the printer cover and remove the cartridges.
  3. Close the printer cover.
  4. Re-brick your printer by pulling out power supply, black box where the power cord is plugged in at the back of the printer, and put it back after 30 seconds.
  5. When the printer turns on, reinsert one cartridge first.
  6. Close the printer cover and check for any errors.
  7. Reinsert the other cartridge.
  8. Replace whichever cartridge is causing the error to appear.
  9. If no error appears, reload some sheets of paper and try to print a document again to verify that problem is fixed.

Just got a X5470 printer from a friend of the families. Said he was not sure what was wrong with it. I didn't have the cd so i installed it offline. It says that I have colored and black ink, have...


Make sure you are inserting the correct cartridges for your model. The Lexmark X5470 uses 32 or 34 black cartridge and the 33 or 35 color cartridge.
Try to follow the steps below to identify and fix the problem:
  1. Open the printer cover and remove the cartridges. Check the encoder strip (transparent strip usually found behind the cartridge carrier) and make sure it has not gotten unseated from its position.
  2. Close the cover. Unplug and re-plug the printer into the power source to reset it.
  3. When the printer turns on, check for any errors on the printer display screen. If "alignment problem" error appears, please contact Lexmark Technical Support Center for additional assistance.
  4. If no error appears, reinsert one cartridge first. Close the cover and check for errors.
  5. Reinsert the other cartridge.
  6. Replace whichever cartridge is causing the error to appear. It may be faulty. You may also try to insert a different known working cartridge to determine if the cartridge you're currently using is defective.
If the problem continues, please contact Lexmark Technical Support Center for additional assistance.

Try to remove both black and color cartridges from the printer. Close the printer cover. Unplug and re-plug the printer into the power source to reset it. When the printer turns on, re-insert both cartridges and make sure they are properly seated and secured in the carrier. Close the cover. If error continues to show on the display screen even if interchangeably insert your 35 or 33 cartridge, please contact Lexmark Technical Support Center for additional assistance.

Error 1102 Refuse to print PC screen says incompatible cartridge although I'm using original lexmark cartridge.


The 1102 error message is caused by a communication failure between one of the cartridges and your printer. My printer Lexmark X4270 is displaying on it's screen always Error #1203. what can I do?


error 1203 is cartridge error, cartridges has a short
1. press power button to turn off your printer
2. unplug your printer to the wall outlet
3. plug in your all in one
4. reinstall your cartridges
if this does not resolve the problem replace your cartridges with new one
for more trouble shooting option :
1. click start> program> lexmark 4200 series> lexmark solution center
2. click the trouble shooting tab on the left side of the screen

Lexmark Cartridge Error


Are you using a Lexmark factory new cartridge? If not then please try a Lexmark factory new cartridge.

Lexmark does not support the use of third party cartridges or refilled cartridges. Lexmark considers this to be product tampering and will void the printer's warranty if damage occurs because of the OEM cartridge.

If you are getting any type of 'CLEAR SYSTEM ERROR' on the LCD screen of the printer, please follow these steps:
1) Remove the power cable for 2 minutes and the USB cable from behind the printer.
2) Press and hold down the stop clear button and reconnect the power cable back to printer.
3) The printer LCD screen should clear the memory error.
4) If the same error message persist on the LCD screen, please follow the instructions below.
5) Unplug the power cable for 2 minutes and USB cables from behind the printer and open the printer cover and remove both ink carts.
6) Repeat step 2 and Install both cartridges then the screen will display Cartridge's clean, press start.
