Your bearings are gone that's why you have oil you have a big job on your hands if i was you i would go down to your local second hand appliance shop they might take on the job and its not all the dear so try and ask first before wasting money doing it your self.

check the motor capacitor if your motor doesn't turn when powered, otherwise the "wig-wag"coil could be faulty,these coils shift your transmission for different cycles

If you remove the top cover to the agitator, inside you will see a I believe 9/16" nut.  Remove this to take the agitator off the shaft.

The last one I repaired had a 2 quarters in the pump.
Remove the hoses and inspect the pump for coinage.

the control knob is most likely to be out on it if you take it apart and get a part number it should be easy to replace call an appliance parts place. i had to do the same thing to my washer and it fixed the problem

My GE washer Model WPSR3100 will run for 2 or 3 minutes when first started and then stop. After 5 or more minutes it will start up again and run for less than 1 minute and stop again for another 5 or more...


It appears that you may have controller issues since operation is haywire. Try to reset the electronics to factory defaults. If this remedy does not do it then.........
