1. First check if your door rubbers seals properly. if not, try and adjust yor doors so that they seal properly.what happens sometimes is that moisture leaks into your fridge.
2. It is also possible that your unit is overgased. you can buy yourself a valve that can be screwed onto the suction pipe line to your compressor. at the back of your fridge you will find a condenser unit that is directly connected to your compressor. that is called the discharge line and you will notice that the discharge line is thinner than the suction line to your compressor. get yourself a set of fridge gauges that you will connect to your valve that you just connected to your suction line. check your psi reading of your suction line under normal running conditions. to get a compartment temperature of minus 18deg celcius your psi reading depending on gas your fridge is charged with should be more or less 4,5 psi. if you have ice build up at the back of your fridge on your suction line your unit is overgased. if your reading on your guage reads less than zero psi then your unit is undergassed. good luck.

Samsung bi-metal defrost thermostat

If the coil is good, it could be that the defrost timer is not allowing enough of a defrost cycle resulting in ice buildup after various cycles. The ice is never being complete melted and it just keeps building up.

The freezer isn't making alot of ice. Can the hose behind the ice maker freeze?

Hi and welcome to FixYa, I am Kelly.

When a refrigerator slows down ice production it is usually the result of poor air-flow through the evaporator coils. The poor air-flow is due to ice build up on the evaporator coils. The ice build up happens because the unit is not defrosting properly or the evaporator fan is not running at full speed.

To answer your question "Can an Ice-maker tube freeze?" Yes, they can and do freeze but when they do freeze that is caused by a defective inlet water valve that is leaking water by when it is supposed to be shut off. It can freeze if some one set the temp control to MAX cold. Additionally when they do freeze and the Ice-maker cycles the plastic hose on the back of the unit pops out of the ice maker tube and each cycle starts porting ice maker fill water on the floor.

This may sound odd.. but. Perform a manual defrost by removing the freezer contents and directing a fan into the freezer compartment for just over 2 hours. (Makes a water mess so do not leave it unattended) The return the unit to normal service and after 8 hours start watching the amount of ice produced. (Should be normal for 2 days!) If after 2 days the ice production slows again you have an automatic defrosting problem that is causing the ice build up on the evaporator coils.

If you need any more assistance please include your complete model number in any future responses.

Thanks for choosing FixYa,
Kelly

Coils freezing up in the freezer compartment fan is not running

#1. Defrost problem. The frozen coils allow the temperature to rise causing the fan not to run.
#2. Another possibility is that the fan died and the ice build up happened, however I believe # 1 is the answer.

There is an ice build-up underneath the humidity control drawers and the food in the drawers is freezing. It is a model RB 215 LABB. We have adjusted the temperatures of both the freezer and the fridge,...

The problem isn't the humidity control or temperature control. When the refrigerator automatically defrosts it goes through a cycle of heating and melting the ice build-up then drains this water to a tray at the bottom of the refrigerator (underneath). The drain tube that lets this water flow down to the bottom tray freezes so the ice begins to build inside the refrigerator section.

The solution to this is to defrost the tube so water can flow again. There are heating coils in the freezer section behind the plastic in the back that you must remove and defrost.

This is an inherent problem with a lot of refrigerator/freezers. You should probably have your refrigerator serviced and to check the heating capability of the coils to keep this tube from freezing. Otherwise put this on your monthly schedule of manually defrosting.

I have an amana side by side refrigerator. The ice is building up

There is a drain hole under all of that ice that got clogged at some point and it started building up ice in that area.  The water that is freezing is coming from the defrost cycle which melts all of the ice buildup on the evaporator coil.  First melt the ice.  Then unclog the drain hole.  The drain goes to a tray in back near the compressor, where the heat from the compressor evaporates the water.

Frig not stayng cool. Freezer not freezing

most fridges have a evaporator dish or container.
it must be emptied ...and cleaned and disinfected.

now-a -days they are usually mated with the compressor and cool this unit down. notice there is no coil along the back of the fridge...it is usiually behind the fridge at the bottom with a cardboard or plastic access cover...
this will make the unit cool better and return the cooling to normal....
\next
clean out your freezer...i bet it's full of 4 month old packs of something you'll never eat....this will let the freezer breathe and circulate air to the coil ...i bet it has 3 in of ice on it...yikes...your not alone...most people do this...\
get a freezer if your getting ready for the apocalypse and liberate some room.
good luck

it may not be working or it is not set to cycle often enough.you can also check for air leaks.a constant air leak will cause a lot more ice to build up.

Samsung fridge RS2545SH every 7 days freezes fridge coil.

Hey how yo doing? on most refriderator there are two important parts to keeping freezer from freezing over, they are the bimetal thermostat and ice pipe heater. The bimetal therostat is a preset thermostat that ranges from 54degrees farenheit to about 60, when the coils (inside the freezer compartment behind the back panel) reach the preset temp. it closes a circuit and send electricity to the ice pipe heater, to warm the freezer coils preventing from freezing over. if any one of those components fail, your freezer will continue to freeze solid until there is no more space for ice to build on coils decreasing air flow from the evaporator fan blowing air into your fridge. To test you will minor knowledge on using a multimeter.(REMEBER TO UNPLUG REFRIDGERATOR BEFORE SERVICING, IF YOU UNCOMFORTABLE WORKING ON APPLIANCE PLEASE CONTACT A PROFFESIONAL REPAIR SERVICE..) If you'd like to continue please respond.
GOOD LUCK, WORK SAFELY..
