Fuse is usually behind the control panel and may require lowering the Microwave and removing the cover.

Microwaves can store 4,000 Volts EVEN WHEN UNPLUGGED for periods of time. This CAN KILL you!

Do not attempt this repair unless you are positive of your abilities and have paid your life insurance in a timely fashion.

My Ewave Model #KOT-153UB operates fully but does not heat up. Is this fixable?

The part that makes the heat isn't too expensive. It may be a fuse . If it is then you have to find the cause of it failing. You don't say whether it's a table top or over the cook top style microwave. If it's over the cook top it's a chore getting it down for service. Check an appliance repair company to see if the repair costs are way less than the cost of a new one. If it is then go ahead with the repair.

Ewave microwave

Over the range microwaves are generally the same as far as the rear dimensions but you will still need to install new mounting brackets and drill new holes in the cabinet. Each brand is slightly differnt in its mounting.

My GE microwave JVM1860 is dead, no power. I checked the electric outlet and the fuse/breake panel. Nothing.

One of the most common problems with Ewave microwaves is a loose blade on the cooling fan, causing the magnetron to overheat.

At this time looks like the magnetron, the magnetron TCO and the fan blade have to be replaced.

Ewave over the stove microwave fuse blows when I

The light is the only thing that comes on when you open door. You either have a shorted door switch (Micro switch) or a shorted bulb. You have either a shorted bulb or bad socket. From my experience, it's the bulb. Just because it may seem to start to come on when you open the door, it's most likely bad. At least it not expensive.

Ewave panel is on lock

As per the owner's manual:

The oven operation can be locked to prevent the microwave from accidentally being turned on. All oven functions can be locked.

To Set: Touch and hold the CANCEL/OFF Pad for three seconds. The Display shows “LOCKED” and the oven beeps.

To Cancel: Touch and hold the CANCEL/OFF Pad for three seconds. “LOCKED” disappears from the Display and the oven beeps.

If this does not work, then try a hard reset: Unplug the unit for a minute or so. Then plug it back in, set the clock and try again.

If it still fails, you probably have a problem with the controller.

We regularly repair such control units for customers nationwide by mail for $39.95 postpaid in about a week or so with a one-year guarantee. It may cost a little more if you need parts, such as a new keypad.

Feel free to contact me directly (and please remind me of your full model number from the tag on the unit) for more information & help.

We're happy to help you with free advice and we'd appreciate your thoughtful rating of our answer.

Screen on microwave is blank. could this be a fuse?

All microwave ovens have an internal fuse that is put in place to blow if there is a problem within the oven. Microwave service can be very dangerous if correct procedures are not followed during servicing. I'd leave this and all microwave repairs to the pros.
