Problem for Sony Playstation 3 (PS3) Console

My ps3 starts up, freezes, picture messes up, wont start back up

my ps3 starts up and then immediately freezes and the screen pixelates in random odd patterns and colors. Then my screen goes blank. I have to manually shut off the system and then it won't start up for a few hours. Any help?

try getting the new 3.01 firmware, since 3.0 had some freezing issues with some games, ..
put the consol in a well ventillated palce, put a regular standing fan near it or buy a usb powered fan to keep it cool

I had same problem, hard drive got fried, go buy another one or take it to sony
