Probably a stupid question, but when I push the P-Scan button nothing happens. We have lost the remote for this DVD and I am trying to determine whether the video output is bad or not before spending the $ on a new remote.

PSO shows up next to the Play and will not go away no matter how long I hold the button in.

    Any suggestions would be great.

Just got video! I had to get to the menu option and them press the progressive scan button in order to turn it off. Just pressing the button while the dvd was in did not turn the progressive scan off.

The problem is with the p.scan button. It seems if its pressed the video goes off. You need to keep it pushed until you see a message for "progressive scan".

Hmm.. I doubt you will be able to help me, and if you can, it won't be free, but here's my question anyway: any idea why when I try to connect an s-video cable from my harman kardon avr 130's Video 1...

Well, use the "Monitor Out" jack on the receiver, as that is what it's designed for.
Is there a jack labeled "Video 1 Input" or only "Video 1 Output"? It could be that the Harmon Kardon folks have a weird way of labelling so that "Video 1 Output" is actually an "input" to the amp that is then fed thru the "Monitor Out" jack. It will take some experimenting on your behalf. Some units will also NOT take an input or output thru the S-Video IF you have a composite cable connected to the (yellow) composite video jack for that same point, so make sure that is disconnected if you want to use the SVideo. Also, sometimes there is a menu setup in your monitor where you have to decide between Composite video or SVideo or Component Video, so check that in some cases as well.
Let me know what you find out.

Help!! Would like to use my ks3102 as a dvd only. How can I do this? Where do I put the plugs in the tv and the dvd? I get a great picture, but no sound. Thanks - I appreciate any help[. Joe in PA.

As far as video connections you can use either one of these connections
As far as audio, you can use the 2 RCA outputs (left - right) marked with the number 4 at the following diagram
Connect these 2 RCA outputs either at the tv's audio in (in case there is one) or use a scart to RCA (with SVideo connector) adaptor (you can ask for this at your local tech store). Use this adaptor at the scart port of the tv and connect at the adaprtor's RCA the RCA audio outputs and the SVideo at the SVideo (number 8) of the DVD player.

In case of a problem or clarification, don't hesitate to post me a reply.

Want to hook up old tv model ds32224 to my pc

Hi there
To answer your question;
First on your pc you will need a video card that has either composite or svideo output.
Then you`ll need a single rca cable or svideo cable to go from pc video out to tv video in.
If you want the sound going through the tv as well, you will need a stereo audio cable with 1/8" phone jack at one end and two rca connectors at the other end.
The audio will go from the sound card out to audio in on the tv
Hope this help. Happy Holiday

I want to connect my pc to a leowe tv for streaming. Want to know what connections and cables i need. It is a normal tv not lcd. Thanks

wired solution: (one of many)
You have to use your s-video out for the video, get a s-video to rca cable (for example this one ). For sound use your audio out (or phone jack) and get another jack to rca converter or cable (for example : )
Buy a rca to scart, plug the yellow (svideo to rca) in the yellow pin, the red and white ones are for audio.

get one of these :
and a svideo to rca (
and to connect this a female to female rca

First off all, buy a decent (they are pricey!!) AV transmitter
they useally come with scart to rca. and buy the above mentioned cable (svideo to rca and jack to rca) and you are ready to go.

Hope this helped.

What is the correct wiring connection using hdmi and optical cables from a lcd tv to yamaha yht292

If you tv has a hdmi input, connect it to the Yahama receiver hdmi output (out). If you are using a satellite receiver, digital converter, or a cable box with hdmi output(s), connect them to the Yahama hdmi input (in) for video and audio signals. If the above box(es) do not have hdmi capabilities, then connect the box(es) to the Yahama with either component (preferred), svideo, or yellow RCA compsite video jack (least preferred) for the video signal. For audio, connect the box(es) with optical or coax (preferred) or left-right-center-front-rear patch cords.

It really all depends on what outputs are available on the boxes and/or signal source(s).

Hope this helps,

How do I get sounds when I use the red green blue rca hook ups?

The red, blue and green RCA hook up is just video. You must also use the red and white pair of RCA jacks for the audio. You can usually find the audio red and white jacks right below the video red, blue and green RCA jacks. Get yourself an audio RCA cord with the red and white connectors and run that from your video device audio output to the audio input of the TV that corresponds with the video input of the TV. An example would be if the red, blue and green are on the "Video 1" input of your TV you will find the red and white audio input for "Video 1" right below or right next to the video inputs.

The red, blue and green video jacks are called "component video" and they only have a video signal for high definition video, so you must also run a separate audio line for it. The same holds true for the yellow video RCA connector, that one is called "composite video" and it also has only a video signal with no audio.

I hope this helps, if so a "FixYa!" rating would be very much appreciated.

If you need more help just post your concerns right here onthis thread.

Computer TV out with S Video

You can use the yellow RCA cable using an SVideo adaptor. When using dual displays make sure that display number 2 is adtive. To do that move the mouse to display 2 press the right mouse button and select active. Check extend desktop to the monitor to check the signal and press apply. Make sure you are using either an Svideo or RCA signal.

I have a aiwa cx-na77, how do I connect it to a tv so that I hear the tv sound on the aiwa speakers

If it has an "AUX" input or any other type of RCA jacks for an input, you can connect the TV RCA audio jacks output to the input RCA jacks of the Aiwa.

That's what you would need.

RCA audio outputs on the TV

RCA audio input on the Aiwa

Just look at the back of each unit and see if it has them. RCA audio jacks are the small circular red and white jacks. They will be labed on each unit what they are for. You need output jacks on the TV and input jacks (but not for phono) on the Aiwa.

Video output not working

it sound to me like you have a broken connection on yourvideo out jack on the main unit becouse you say the lead is fine and the tv screens work with another unit.this can be caused by the plug being pulled out in a wrong angle. ask an audio dealer to chech the solder connections in the unit to see if they are making a connection with the pcb(printed circuit board. hope this helps
