OK. I solved it. On my phone in the main menu you go to "Entertainment">memory card>connect with pc and all is well. You can copy files to and from the phone as you would any storage device. I was getting pretty frustrated there.

Hello,
The USB cable is just a neans to connunicate between different hardware. In certain instances, it also doubles as a power cord.
Windows needs a driver for your cellular phone, not for the cable. Windows detects the phone at the other end of the USB cable but it does not know how to communicate with it. That is why it needs a driver (a set of instructions, protocols, let just say an interpreter) between it and the phone.
Download the driver for your phone from Samsung Website, and install it in your computer. Next time you connect it Windows will know how to interact with your phone.

Hope it clarifies things.

Hey i'm sure you got a cd with in the box right? First install the cd. This will allow your computer to recognize your phone and start any basic transfer.
(Now there's a extremely tiny chance that you haven't gotten the cd. If that's the case go to the store where you purchased your phone and tell them you din't get the cd and fill in a complaint. Just make sure at the end of the day you hav a cd.)
Once the cd has been installled then plug your phone wit the aid of the usb cable to your computer. It's fairly simple after that, you can always use the help option which will tell you how to transfer music/videos/images etc. Of course if you're feeling lazy to search through help you can always ask me and i'd be happy to help.
Lemme know if this was useful and if you have any other problems.

When I connect My Samsung VP-D77i Camcorder to my Laptop I always get a message saying "cant open camera device". My Laptop does not have a fire wire port but only with USB ports. It has Windows 7 Pre

First, try attaching the camcorder via usb cable with the camera OFF, then turning it on. This may trigger Windows to activate the driver scanner and activate the driver. If you've been attaching with camcorder off, try attaching with it on, to see if that activates driver installation.

If that doesn't work, you may have a low-power usb plug; often the usb ports in the back of the computer put out more juice than the handy ones on the front. You may also need a shorter and more robust usb cable; I've found with various cameras and phones that certain usb cables work fine for recharging but won't necessarily provide adequate data transfer.

I have a samsung GT-S5600V ive installed the software for it 'USB cable' and 'Samsung new PC studio' and ive connected my phone to the computer through the USB cable and its not searching...

HI there,
I've personally gone through this circle...ugh.
First - Reboot your computer, and your cellphone. Turn them both completely off, and back on.
If that doesn't solve it,
Second - UNinstall everything to do with your phone. Drivers/Software/Etc. Once that's done, Reboot your computer. Now reinstall the drivers/software/etc, and when that's finished, plug your phone in, let windows find and install what it needs to.
If THAT doesn't work,
Sometimes windows installs your phone as a modem, and then as a usb disk. It may be possible that you machine recognizes the modem first and runs a process to coincide with that. FInd that process and kill it, and you should be good to go!

My new samsung Galaxy Ace GT-S5830 will not connect to my computer so i cant Put anything on the phone or taking anything off.

You need the proper drivers to enable your phone on your computer -
http://downloadcenter.samsung.com/content/SW/201102/20110201141300773/Kies_2.0.0.11014_49_2.exe
If this still doesn't work, Check your cable, as it's probably faulty.
On some phones there is an option for "USB mode" or "Sync with PC" - check that as well.

Many Samsung phones are able to be connected to the computer via a program called Samsun PC Studio 3. It's available from many online stores. It comes with the software and a USB data cable. Amazon.com and other places have it. Good luck to you

Download pictures via a USB cable to a pc.

All phones are different, but if you already have the usb cable, simple plug it in! If windows comes up with a "Searching for driver" window, then great! Let it finish and try accessing the USB device via the hard disk icon it creates in "my computer". Otherwise you may need to use the software that came with the USB cable.

Nokia N72 driver for windows 98

Just follow the following steps:
1) Locate the USB port of your Nokia N72 phone. See Manual if needed.
2) If your mobile phone has a USB Data Cable supplied, connect the end that matches the hub while connect the USB end to your USB port of your PC.
3) If your mobile phone has a CD supplied, this contain the PCSuite software bundled with drivers for your PC operating system.
4) Insert the CD to your CDRom drive.
5) After step 4, you will see a window saying install PCSuite then choose Yes.
6) Choose which operating system. If you use Windows 98, then choose the driver for Windows 98.
7) After installation, reboot/restart tour PC to complete the setup process but never disconnect yet your USB Cables from your mobile phone to PC.
8) Once restarted click on the icon of the PCSuite on your PC, then check if your PC can communicate with your mobile phone and vice versa. To do this click connect via USB if the datas in your mobile phone is seen then connection is correct.

If your problem is USB Driver for Windows 98, i suggest you upgrade your PC operating system to Windows 2000 or Windows XP. Old operating platforms have driver problems when new devices are attached to. But if you choose Windows 98, you will have to browse the internet in search of drivers. Just let me know if you have not found a driver. I'll assist you with this.
