Question about Euro-Pro Shark GI475 Iron

1 Answer

The light has apparently burned out, at least it no longer comes on when the iron is lifted. I have no manual for the iron, so I don't know if or how I can change the bulb.

Not exactly 'how to fix it'. This type of solution would NOT be worth 9.99/month to me. I am cancelling my membership before the 30 free days is up.

Hello. if your iron is under one year old return it to any store that handles the item, such as the target store chain. if you want to have it repaired, go to http://mrappliance.iarbiz.com/gDXRDdSnYLE= and find a small appliance repair shop near your.

finally, the bulb is a speciality item so you are better off sending it to be repaired as finding the bulb will be more difficult that disassembling the iron. good luck with it.

Why is my linen dress shiny after ironing at the linen setting?

The fine fibres at the surface of linen stand up like the bristles on a brush. Light coming into the fibres gets trapped. When you iron the linen, you flatten the fine fibres. Incoming light no longer gets trapped in the spaces between the fibres and instead is reflected (bounced back) like on a mirror. That is why linen looks shiny after ironing. To prevent this, use a damp cloth on top of your linen when ironing. This will flatten (iron) the linen material but not compress the fine fibres. Good look.

Philips steam iron no steam and red tap light is flashing even when filled up with water it's still getting hot and water is boiling but steam fiction not working as red light will not go out

It sounds like the flow holes are CLOGGED with scale inside. To clean it out:

1. Drain the water/steam out the pour-in shoot at the top of the handle, over the sink. Is any crap coming out?

2. Take some VINEGAR and pour it straight into the fill pour-in shoot. Don\'t dilute it. Fill up the IRON to full line. Let the vinegar SOAK the inside of the COLD iron for 15-20 minutes, by placing it FACE DOWN on an old bath towel, on a heat-resistant surface, such as a granite counter top, or metal cookie sheet. Don\'t put the towel on the ironing board!!! It may get stained badly. Let it sit, COLD for 20 minutes. You can swirell the vinegar around by shaking the iron.

Stand it up on its flat end, with the vinegar inside, still. Take some fresh vinegar and dip Q-tips into the vinegar and clean the slots and holes on the bottom plate. Any burn streaks or soil can be removed with wiping the plate with vinegar. After you clean all the holes and slots with vinegar from the outside, TURN ON THE IRON with the vinegar inside. The vinegar will heat up and should come out the holes. If any holes are not blowing vinegar/steam, clean them with q-tips again. Don\'t let all of the vinegar inside steam out!! Just heat it enough to make sure all of the holes are clean. Some white film may come out of the holes on to the face plate--it is calcium build-up from using tap water in the iron.

Now DUMP out vinegar inside the iron and reservoir through the pour-shoot You may see crud and crap coming out. Repeat the process of filling it up, steaming through the holes etc. until the vinegar comes out clear!!!

DON\'T use tap water in any IRON. Use distilled water, or even bottled drinking water (without flavoring, additives, of course). This will prevent corrosion and calcium build up in the iron.

ALWAYS completely drain the iron from the pour-in spout each time you are finished using it!! After pouring out the tank\'s water, you can set the iron to STEAM HIGH, and force any water inside to boil off and out of iron.! Never keep water in the reservoir or iron.

I set my iron, when hot, and done using it, with the pointed side DOWN in the sink drain to make sure it is dry.

So clean it with vinegar often, use bottled drinking water or better, distilled water and it will prevent this.

Bosch Sensixx B25L

see the instruction from your manual:
Check the owner's manual for your iron to learn the manufacturer's suggestions for cleaning, what water to use, and storage tips.
Soft-water systems add minerals that can harm an electric steam iron and your clothes so don't fill the iron with softened water. Instead, use filtered or distilled water.
2) if the iron does not heat a( test the power cord for open or defective b) and thermostat for adjust c) test the thermal fuse d) test the heating element for open.
God bless you

Teful ultraglide easycord fv4260

Hi.
If you move the cord up/down/side to side and the iron works then you have a problem with the cord-damaged/broken or the pins(bent) and the wall power outlet pins(gone wide) are not making a GOOD connection.BE CAREFUL YOU WOULD/COULD TRIP THE FUSE AND ALSO DAMAGE THE POWER OUTLET-BURN/ARC AND CAUSE SOME DAMAGE.check the pins and connection. This will be a step by step checking of the cord and connection pionts.
Hope this helps
