Question about MSI PM8M-V Motherboard

2 Answers

I need to disable the onboard video by finding the jumpers on the motherboard (MSI 7191 Version 1.1). When I installed a new PCI card (because the onboard video is broken) the computer freezes up and causes other problems. I am helping a client with problems that they're having with their onboard video. I want to disable the onboard video. I tried to disable it in Device Manager, but it won't disable.

I did all of these things, but the MSI 7191 motherboard's BIOS does not disable the onboard video, it only give the option to choose the PCI as the main video card. When that's enable and the card is installed, the system begins to act very ***** and begins corrupting the systems32 files, freezes the mouse and a lot of other strange things. I need to find the motherboard's manuel to configure the jumpers to shutoff the onboard video. Any help would be appreciated.

Go to the device manage and instead of disabling it, uninstall it. Then power down, move the cable to the pci port. reboot, when windows brings up the new hardware found, hit cancel until it disappears. Go back to device manager and if it has re-appeared uninstall it again and go about your business.

Have you tried entering BIOS? I beliveve that you have to press and hold F1 during boot to enter BIOS. Once in there you should be able to disable onboard video card.

Check your BIOS - there should be a setting in there to disable the onboard video. You shouldn't need to use a jumper to disable this.

Were are the jumpers to disable the on board videofor aopen mx3w pro-E

Why do you need to disable the onboard video??

If you have added a new graphics card it should automatically select this new card.

If it doesnt, you can go in to the bios and disable the onboard graphics card from there.

For example, Onboard graphics can usually be refered to in the bios as PCI, so if you've added an AGP card or PCI-E card then you would just need to select either one of these from the bios menu.

Not sure what bios your using but it may even have ann option to disable onboard graphics.

Need help disableing onboard video, and installing PCIe video card.

Hi rebelel1271, I do have the manual for you're Intel motherboard. You can have it as well. Click on the link below to download you're manual. document.write("D101GGC Product Documentation & Manuals") D101GGC Product Documentation & Manuals
Intel states you do not need to make any bios changes when you add a PCI-Express video card. See this on page 17, PCI and PCI Express Auto Configuration. Before installing you're PCI-E video card, open windows controll panel. Than open add/remove programs. Look for the driver software for you're onboard ATI Radeon X200. Uninstall that software. (If listed). Close all opened windows & shut down windows. Unplug the power cord from the PC. Open the case. Install you're new ATI Radeon X800 PCI-E video card. Double check all internal connections, (In case you may have bumped loose any cables). You're X800 may also have a 3-pin or 4-pin male power connector built on the card. If so, plug power to the X800.

A little information. Once you're PCI-E has been installed. You're system memory will increase.

Good Luck!

Enter you're bios. Open you're user manual to page 3-13. Integrated Peripherals. Go to, Init display first. Set to AGP.
(Not to PCI). That is all you need to change. The MSI bios will than see you're add in AGP card & automatically disable the PCI S3 graphics, (Onboard) card.
