It seems that jvc camcorders have the same problem because i have one GR-D23EK that has the same problem. Was working fine
Then i turned it on and it asks to remove Lens Caps which is all ready off.
All other functions work fine, sound, playback,
taping, tele/wide, stills but no picture. Is there any thing to do? Or is a JVC camcorders problem.

Hi everyone...I have just the same problem, when I try 2 record something it asks me to remove lenscap...Went back to the shop to get them to fix it and I was told that it would cost me £40 just to have a look at it and they don`t know how much it would cost me to fix it as well....I bought mine 3 years ago and the guarantee is off date but it only worked for 2 years...don`t really know what to do about it, but its very annoying..Mary

ON SCREEN DISPLAY SAYS THAT THE LENS CAP IS STILL ON!!!!

I know this is an old post, but this model (along with many others) was subject to a product recall due to a fauly part. This is a known problem and was being dealt with by JVC free of charge.
