Question about Office Equipment & Supplies

1 Answer

I am replaceing a Partner ACS v2 with a newer v6 and am using the PC Administration software to configure the new system. The problem is that when I get to extension button programming, I have Lucent 8102M phones and the options for phones in the software only include Partner 34,18,6 and MLS 18,34 and Standard phone. Is there a translation for the 8102M so I can us the PC software to program?

Stadard phone does not allow me to assign functions to buttons on the 8102. It has more buttons than a Partner 6 and less than a Partner 18.

I would presume you can use that as a standard phone

looking further it appears to be mls but i'm unable to find whether it is 18 or 34

use the number closer to how many programmable features it has.

What to do when the "replace system battery" message displays on a Partner ACS...

The Partner ACS system uses 2 AAA batteries to retain programming from 45 to180 days, in the event of a power outage. When these batteries fail, a system warning (replace sys bat w/ power on) will display on the screen of extensions 10 and 11. Replacing the system batteries doesn't require a service technician and is fairly simple to do providing you know the proper steps.
With new batteries in hand, go to the phone system cabinet and find the system processor. The system processor will be marked on the top third of the card with a label marked "Partner ACS processor".
On the bottom of the processor module, below the extension jacks, there is a battery compartment. With the power on, Push in slightly on the battery compartment and slide the black locking latch up to cover the"+" icon. Remove the battery assembly by pulling the tab at the bottom of the compartment cover.Place the batteries into the metal battery clips fully. Make sure the polarity of the batteries is correct by looking inside the metal battery clips for the "+" and "-" icons cut into the metal of the battery clip. With the locking latch in the unlocked (up) position slide the battery assembly back into the processor card far enough that the edges of the assembly slip behind the plastic housing of the processor card.Slide the locking latch down to secure the battery compartment. The message on your screen will disappear if the batteries are inserted correctly.

Partner acs 5.0 keeps losing programming when power goes down. I've replaced the batteries numerous times. Any suggestions?

Your ACS has a known software bug. You need to contact the place you purchased it from. They will need to open a ticket with Avaya TierIII, and they will have to upgrade the firmware of the control unit.

After power failure, lines ring once and stop as if call is answered elsewhere. Turned off all answering machines and it still happens.

The system lost its programming. Do you have a Partner plus or Partner II?

Or is it an ACS?

If an ACS, you can restore programming (possibly)

If a Partner II/Plus, the internal battery is bad, I would get a battery backup or replace the processor.
