It is possible especially if it has a loose or slightly faulty component and moving the monitor has caused it to fail especially if you bump it in the move.

My monitor no display and light is blinking

Hi,
if the monitor light is blinking this suggests that, there is no display signal coming from the tower. This could be because of the following .

1. Bad video card 2. Bad video software

To check, where the problem is , power of the system tower and remove the power cord from the back of the tower. Press and hold the power buttoon for 10 seconds and the reconnect the power cord and turn the tower on. Check if there is any display or the status of the light changes from amber to green for even a small instance.

If the light changes to green and back to amber the video port on the tower is bad

Alternatively you can connect the monitor to another desktop or laptop to check if the same is working correctly.

Thanks for using fixya

I have a Philips LCD monitor - 150S4FB/00B - and for a year or so when i disconnect the power cord i would have problems to switch the monitor on when i reconnect it. I would have to disconnect and...

i will state the obvious first...u have subbed out the power and vga cables right...to make sure that is not the issue? Then of course the power plug internally - those contacts can go if you have been plugging unplugging lots... If apart, you will need to check continuity with a multimeter against the plug holes to the board. Likely requires a spot solder - 400deg silver solder. Also make sure it is not your PC or video card that is loose. Good luck!

Tenho uma placa mae ibm 49p1599 mas nao esta entrando o windows xp erro na inicializacao

If power to your computer is interrupted while BIOS is being updated, your computer might not restart correctly. The Clear CMOS/Recovery jumper enables you to restart the system and recover the BIOS. To perform a Flash/BIOS recovery using the Clear CMOS/Recovery jumper, use the following procedure: Before proceding, be sure to review the safety information.
  1. Turn off the computer and any attached devices, such as printers, monitors, and external drives.
  2. Unplug all power cords from electrical outlets, and remove the cover.
  3. Locate the Clear CMOS/Recovery jumper on the system board.
  4. If necessary, remove any adapters that impede access to the Clear CMOS/Recovery jumper.
  5. Move the jumper from the standard position (pins 1 and 2) to pins 2 and 3.
  6. Replace any adapters that were removed.
  7. Replace the cover.
  8. Reconnect the power cords for the computer and monitor to electrical outlets.
  9. Insert the POST/BIOS update (flash) diskette into drive A, and turn on the computer and the monitor. The system will begin to beep.
  10. After the update session is completed, there will be no video and the series of beeps will end. Remove the diskette from the diskette drive, and turn off the computer and monitor.
  11. Unplug the power cords from electrical outlets.
  12. Remove the cover.
  13. If necessary, remove any adapters that impede access to the Clear CMOS/Recovery jumper.
  14. Return the Clear CMOS/Recovery jumper to its original position.
  15. Replace any adapters that were removed.
  16. Replace the cover and reconnect any cables that were disconnected.
  17. Turn on the computer to restart the operating system.
  18. You may now want to update the BIOS normally. Refer to the readme.txt file that came with your flash BIOS update.

Nothing on the screen after power on

Turn on the computer and complete the following steps: Step 1: Check cable connections (If you can see the initial HP or Compaq logo screen but later lose the picture, you can skip to Step 2.) check the video cable connection on the back of the computer and on the monitor. Make sure that it is connected properly and the connecting screws are tight. Turn the monitor off and then back on again (while the computer is on) to see if an image appears. Some Flat Panel monitors have two similar power input connections placed side-by-side on the back of the monitor, which sometimes allows them to get confused for one another. One connector is used to supply power to the speakers with a separate power cord, while the other connector is used for the monitor's power adapter. Ensure that you have the monitor's power adapter cord plugged into the power connector and not the speaker connector. After you have reconnected the power cord, turn on the monitor (while the computer is on) to see if an image appears. If there is still no image, continue to the next Step. Step 2: Resetting the monitor At first setup, or under certain signal conditions, the monitor may not be able to switch to a new display resolution. Do NOT shut down or restart the computer. Instead, perform the following steps: Turn off the monitor using the Power button on the front. If the Power button does not respond, unplug the power cord from the back of monitor and wait five seconds. Plug the power cord back in. You should see the image from the computer on the screen.
