Hi Linda(My sisters name also) I'm Dana. If you go to your manufacturers site under "support" you'll be brought to the downloads and updates. Enter your model # and you "should" be able to download all software and updates pertaining to your model. Now, if your printer "was" working recently, you might want to try your system restore, providing your running XP or Vista, and go back to the point where as you can best recall when your printer was working correctly. Also in the main menu(be it in whatever language) you might be able to restore your unit to it's factory defaults utilizing a friend who can speak or at least crawl through the menu as best as is possible. Best of luck to you and thank you, Dana P.S. Try to get me in a chat and we can walk through some other options. I don't know how to do this for I'm on the other side looking out...lol

Blinking green light

Try disconnecting the computer from the printer and shutting it down by removing the power cord and then also shut down the computer for a minute or so and then reboot it and check in "Printers" and see if it has anything waiting to be printed and if so clear out the queue. Flashing green light indicates that the printer is receiving data from the computer and/or printing so you shut it all down and cold reboot to clear out the computer confusion in both the computer and the printer.

Computer sends to printer but printer does not pick up the print

Please see your manual for the meanings of the green and red printer lights, and how to load paper and change ink cartridges. If you do not have a copy, you may download it from here:

http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/support/supDetail.jsp?BV_UseBVCookie=yes&oid=14409&infoType=Overview

There is also a self-help troubleshooting guide there which is very useful.

The blinking red light means you have a cartridge which needs replacing. Right click the little printer icon in the bottom left corner of the screen and select printer settings, then maintenance then replace cartridge.

Hp 960c won't print

Have spoken to HP people on the customer helpdesk. They said to try these steps to reset the signal for "cartridge empty".

Turn off printer
Unplug the USB cable (the one between the printer and PC)
Turn printer back on
Hold down the on/off button while you press the ink alert button 8 times, then the resume button 4 times.
Release the on/off button

This is supposed to clear the problem, it didn't work for me but it might work for someone else.

Because it didn't work for me, HP then advised me to get the printer serviced by a qualified engineer as they could help me no further. I've decided against this as it'd probably be a lot cheaper to buy a new printer. Such a shame, this lovely little printer has served me very well since May 2002 for my home business.

Anyway, I hope this solution works for other people

One or more of the following symptoms will also be observed: The all-in-one keeps turning off Cannot print, scan, or copy The print carriage will not move Windows plug and play (device detection) does not occur The all-in-one does not respond when buttons are pressed, including the power button. SOLUTION: This problem occurs for two reasons: the front panel cover was not installed or the ink cartridge access door was not closed before plugging in the all-in-one. The front panel overlay must be correctly installed before the power cord is plugged in. Follow the steps below to correct the problem: Disconnect the power cord. Lift the scanner lid and carefully line up and install the front panel overlay. Plug the power cord in.
