Question about Hoover HW130M Front Load Washer / Dryer

Drum spins for a bit then stops. Strange grinding noise and flashing.

The Drum of my Hoover washer/dryer spins for a bit then stops. There seems to be a grinding noise and when I took the back off and switched the drying mode on I noticed a strange flashing light from the motor, as though someone was welding from it the noise was obviously attributed to this as well. What do you think the problem is and how can it be fixed?

the inside of the drum makes a clicking sound, and I located the noise at the back of the drum and the noise seem's to be in the central part where the bearings is located.

Hoover AM1100 Washing machine, wont final spin.

The noise, is it a grinding noisy like worn bearings?

put the washer on drain only - is the pump working ok, take the filter out to see if it is turning ok, does that make a strange noise?

If the pump is fine, its back to that noise, it could be be a faulty tacho on the motor ( regulates the spin speed) or motor bearings - has the motor spindle a lot of play on it?
Let me know how you get on and good look!

The most likely cause is the front drum supports. There are 3 or 4 teflon strips (about a half inch wide and 2 inches long) on the top of the front panel that the dryer drum glides on. When these wear down, the drum can scrape on the plastic that holds them or on the metal frame around the door frame. Another possibility is if the drum touches the dryer exhaust vent pipe, most often only if the dryer is vented out the bottom of the dryer and the vent pipe has shifted up just a bit, allowing it to contact a spot on the drum with each revolution.
