Refresh database

it's supposed to refresh database anytime you make changes to your clip. also, check in the settings what usb mode you're in as well as "my computer" to see if the device shows up when it's plugged in. as for transfering media, if you want to use a program to do it for you, use mtp (under settings on your clip). if you want to manually drag and drop, put it in msc (also in settings). also in msc, it doesn't really matter where you decide to drop the files onto the player, although there should already be a music folder to help keep things organized.

Refreshing data base

It refreshes the database to build the menu for you to navigate.

Your device may have corrupt data in it and therefore takes longer than normal to build the library.

You can format the device to remove everything, and then re-transfer them to see if that helps.

To format in My Computer>Device Name (e250)>right Click and select format.

Best of Luck.
