We have a 2wire 3800HGV-B router provided by AT&T, we bought an HP laptop that wouldn't connect wirelessly. We worked with AT&T and they said that it was the wireless adapter - we contacted HP and they wanted us to run a system recover saying that would fix the problem. We took back the HP and bought an ASUS. We are now having the same problem with the ASUS it has a different wireless adapter (we made sure). Have spent two hours on the phone with AT&T again and problem is not resolved. any suggestions?

Don't talk with ATT to resolve your network setup issues....
But seriously, have a look through some of the links on this page to make sure you've covered the basics. Make sure you have read the manual for your computer and turned on the wifi switch to enable wireless connections, run the wireless connection wizard. See the troubleshooting section and go through each step. This site also has some very helpful sections.
If that doesn't get you sorted out, write back and let us know what errors if any you get when you attempt to connect, whether the router is working as a wired connection, and so forth.
