I can not get my craftsman leaf blower to start. I put a new spark plug and fresh gas. Won't start.

Not to sure without seeing or hearing it being pulled over. Compression? Very likely needs some carb work/kit.

Briggs & stratton engine stops working - died and won't start

It sounds like it is time for a new ignition module. Get the model, type and code off the blower housing and go to www.precisionope.com. There you can look up the ignition module under OEM parts.

Ran great sat. but would not start sun. same gas changed plug air filter gas soaked with it off still not running tried putting gas in spark plug hole still not running this is a craftmans 2 cycle leaf...

Were you running a fuel mixture of 40:1(3.2 oz of 2 cycle oil to 1 gal of gas), that you mixed up before you started using it again. The unit may have had to much use on Saturday and may be burned up. Try to have a compression test done on the engine, needs to be at least 100 psi to run. If that proves to be good then you can start looking at Fresh gas mixture, a new spark plug, Carburetor rebuild or an ignition module.

Hi gr2954;

Lots of the starting problems with 2 cycle engines (weed eaters, blowers, chain saws, etc) are caused by leaving them stored for long periods of time with the oil/gas mixture left in them. what happens is that a residue forms on parts in the carb.

Try the following: empty the fresh gas out of the blower. add a gas stabilizer to the existing gas you plan to put in the blower. You can get this stabilizer at any auto parts store. While you are there get a can of spray start fluid. Put the fresh, modified gas in the blower. Take the spark out and spray some starter fluid in the plug hole.Replace the spark plug and try to start the engine.It will probably take a few cycles of doing this to get the blower to stay running.
when you put the blower up for a long period, empty the remaining gas out then start the engine and run it till it stops. this gets the remaining gas out of the carb.
