Question about Mastercool 67680 Evaporative Cooler Air Conditioner
Working on my son's Master Cool and the cooler works only with manual help of turning the carriage... Once going it works fine... However, that is not the way I want it to work... Have heard mention of a starter being bad on the motor but on inspection, have found a large capacitor... Is that the starting mechanism I need to change? The motor pulley is adjustable, so I have made it much smaller... It works the first time, but after testing it again, when the motor is warm, I need to help it manually again...
I sure would like some help here.... I am usually the 'go to' guy for fixing things, but right now I am stuck... Any help out there?
There are two main reason
1- start capacitor
2- may you tight the belt too much.

If you hear the motor humming and not starting at all it most likely has a severe friction problem with the drum or motor. It could possibly have some type of garment jamming the blower wheel preventing the motor from starting too.
Open the dryer door and manually rotate the dryer drum counter clockwise (CCW). It should take very little effort to rotate the drum. If it's hard to rotate that could explain why the motor hums instead of starting up. If it turns freely, shut the door and see if will start. If it still hums and not start it may have bad motor or a low voltage supply to the motor.
