Question about Dell Dimension 2400 PC Desktop
Sorry to hear that!
If you press F2 while it boots up and enter the bios setup, is the hard drive detected there?
If not, you may be able to detect it as slave on another system, or put it in a usb enclosure and read it.
If you've recently been hearing clicking or noises coming from it, that's not a good sign. See also these articles to help troubleshoot the situation, and search 'hard drive failure' for various possible fixes suggested online, some of which occasionally work long enough to retrieve your data. Here's an exhaustive source of info that may help you to understand what's up.
If, on the other hand, you're referring to the cd drive, write back.
I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue. If you need further assistance, please post back with a comment to this thread.
If I've managed to answer your question or solve a problem, please take just a moment to rate this post....thanks!
