Samsung hlp 4663w picture is all horizontal lines

After the set is on for about 15 minutes it gets all horizontal lines and colors across the whole screen. Sometimes it just corrects itself if I leave it on for a few minutes. I also noticed when it is doing that and I turn the source off, it goes to a blue screen but still has like remnants of the previous picture even with the source off. It almost seems like the "processor" gets too slow or stuck. Any ideas? Any replacement part suggestions

Bad color wheel...have it checked by a quaified tech.....
Must have lamp code number to get color wheel #.............T.

Horizontal line about 1 from bottom of picture

The t con board or LCD panel of the tv is faulty. Can confirm by replacing the t con board.

definately sounds like a color wheel, You can tell by listening to where the sound is coming from if its coming from the right side when looking in the rearabout six inches in from the left side in the middle of the light engine is where the color wheel and housing are located. the housing is held in with two screws and then unplug the 2 wire cables. You can get the replacement color wheel from www.tvrepairworld.com which has instructions.

We have a samsung DLP tv model number HLP 4663W tv. The picture went so we replaced the bulb. Still no picture and the tv makes a noise that sounds like a fan and the tv cycles on and off by itself. ...

Yes, almost certainly a bad color wheel, see attached photo.

If you remove the lamp and look in the direction it faces you should be able to see the wheel, look for it to be missing pieces or shattered.

You Tube has detailed video instructions for replacement in most of the Samsung sets; I have replaced dozens of the wheels.

Screen has black horizontal lines across the bottom and the top of the screen has colored horizontal lines across the screen as well...this causes picture to be not clear.....

Samsung HLP 4663w dlp-hdtv replaced lamp and ballast, still not working. lamp/standbytemp and timer all flashing. i get no clicking on ballast, upon power up all i hear is low fan or vibration sound which...

If the capacitor on the ballast was puffed up or blown up you have to replace the lamp, ballast & SMPS at the same time. But if the ballast is not trying to fire the lamp it sounds like the color wheel is not coming up to speed. If this is the case, the set will not turn on.

Replaced lamp & color wheel, no picture

Check your old lamp. Do you remember what its condition was like. If the tube inside the lamp was shattered into a thousand pieces that is a sign of ballast problems and that is where you should start to look. After all the ballast is what runs your lamp.

Colored lines in my projection tv

my cousin had the same problem. He had to call a repair man. Apparently there are some adjustments to fix this problem. He said it only took the guy about 15 minutes and done.
