Please count LED blinks as there would be 3 seconds interval in blinks.
This is an error code so count pause to pause and get back to me to move forward.
Thanks.

Please intimate exact model number as it seems incomplete.

Can you post screen image of TV as you are saying "TV has picture that
represents the standby button and also the picture two circles together."

    This is confusing me.
    Thanks.

Thanks, It is Sony KP-EF41SN2 rear projection TV.
I have its schematics and related info.
Let me know can you test/ check power supply output voltages with DVM?
I will let you know connector number to check volts on it.
    Thanks.

DVM is digital volt meter that is instrument of techs to check volts and electronic parts in TV.

Are you still willing to repair TV by yourself or thinking about local TV tech to fix it?
    Thanks.

    =========================================================

Yeah, it seems big job because it might needs to replace few parts in PCB and prior to that we have to find out bad parts by testing output volts and taking out suspected parts. If you have no experience of TV repair, I would recommend to have local TV tech services.
    Thanks.

Repair would cost around $250 or so,
I would recommend to ask repair estimate before and that will better input to decide to repair it or not.
    Thanks.

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. Please check how many times does the light blinks. The number of times the light blinks indicates a diffrent fault. Please see this info for more detils--

  • Continuous blink once a second, no pausing - No reply from the jungle IC301 (data bus is busy, shorted to ground, or held high), IK video path is defective.
  • One blink - not used for the self-diagnosis
  • Two blinks - B+ over current protection (OCP), unit go to the standby mode then display the 2 blink fault. Could be a short in the power supply of any of the circuits.
  • Three blinks - B+ over voltage protection (OVP), unit go to the standby mode then display the 3 blink fault. This is also a problem in the power supply circuit, check T603 and R672.
  • Four blinks - No vertical Deflection (V STOP), Screen goes to a single horizontal line then the video signal muted. Check IC1509, Q1505
  • Five blinks - AKB circuit (automatic kine bias), the timer/standby indicator blinks for about 30 seconds then goes to the self-diagnosis function. Something is wrong with the video. Check video out, Q705, 732, 761 and other components on the C board, also check Q218, 219, 220 on the A board. In addition, unit could be in IK blanking, try turning up screen slightly.
  • Six blinks - No Horizontal (H STOP), no raster, goes to the blinking self-diagnosis function immediately. Check C515 & 516 and the jungle IC, IC206.
  • Seven blinks - High voltage shutdown. The high voltage has exceeded 33k and the unit goes immediately into safety shutdown. Check power supply regulation and horizontal circuits.
  • Eight blinks - Problem with the audio (AUDIO), unit goes to standby and blinks the self-diagnosis code. Check IC406 audio amp, PS401, and 402. On some projection models of Sony TV sets, this code means that T8005 (fly back transformer), or the associative components in the high voltage circuits are defective on the D board.
  • Nine blinks - Replace D 6116 and D 6301 on the "G" board, do not Resolder as this will fix the problem temporary. Or Panel Module Error or Thermal Error. If it is intermittent 9 blinks, meaning sometimes the TV comes on and other times you get flashing, then change the switching regulator on the "G" board or check connections. Make sure the regulator is -12 or -13 (negative).
  • Ten blinks - Check Q8014 and Q8013 for shorts, leakage, or bad solder connections on the "D" board. If the transistors are bad, check R8051 and IC8005, also on the "D" board.
Please check out the number of blinks and then you can verify the type of fault that has occured.

Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or else revert for further assistance.

Thanks
Rylee

Hi, I have a Panasonic Plasma TV and Was recently watching it when all of a sudden the screen went out. The light to the tv only blinks now and there is no picture. Any ideas what this problem isn't?

These blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. It has details about blinking codes, and fault locating procedure, to many popular brand TVs and other devices. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/
Blinking codes details to many popular brand TVs are given. Surf the site with patience. If blinks continue without any pause, the main board is faulty.

These blinks (flashes) are fault indication. By the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can vet an idea about the faulty circuit stage inside the TV. Count the blinks occur at one time switch ON, carefully. Do it once again, and make sure about the number of blinks. If the flashes are continious, non-stop, the main system control IC should be suspected. If you wish to get more details, check the site linked here. It has blinking codes detail to many brand TVs. My TV just turned off and the red power light started to blink, why?

In most cases this error will dissapear by switching your television off at the wall and then switching tv on (via power button on TV front/side panel) "Whilst still switched off at wall outlet"

This will discharge all capacitors inside the TV

Now turn TV power button off then switch back on at the wall outelt then try to resume watching TV.

This solution may clear the blinking red light however if it does not it could be a more serious issue such as a blown fuse or even blown control circuit on the TV, In this case you should decide whether a repair is economical or to replace the TV.

This solution is based assumption this a CRT television and not an LCD.

Hope this helps
