Question about Televison & Video
I've got an Acoustic Solutions DVD/TV/VHS combi. It works well but if there is a scratch on a DVD it sometimes just keeps trying to load the DVD and all I get is the 'loading' sign showing. I've tried switching it to standby, switching it off at the wall for over an hour and putting in other DVDs which I know work. I hear the DVD trying to load but no joy. It also often takes aaaages to follow an 'eject' command.
It is almost as if the player has gone in a 'huff'!
It sounds like the unit needs a good cleaning and can be done in a couple of ways which should both be done so that the laser is clear. First off I would get a can of compressed air that computer techs use to blow dirt and debri free of their units. This air is clean and under pressure and is directed though a tiny tube to get into small places. Make sure the unit is unplugged and use short bursts of air not long one, because you might get some water vapor as the air is leaving the tube at high pressure. Next get a cd / dvd cleaning cd available anywhere they sell cds, etc. Let this run and it will let you know when it has completely cleaned the laser and other components associated with the disc reading sequence. Good luck, ParrotHead PC Repair
