You need to clean the rollers and possibly change the ink cartridge.

SOURCE: Copying from Colored Paper

No..The exposure will only give you an overall lighter or darker copy.. Dave UK

SOURCE: Want a B&W copy from colored sheet of paper w/o dark background.

It's never going to be perfect (unless the background is quite light in colour), because the copier basically "sees" the coloured background as "gray", and the darker the background the more "gray" it looks. Try setting the original type to "photo" mode, and then adjusting the exposure a little lighter/darker....that's all you can basically do.

yes that it 's the most possibillity.
but you must be assure that :
- the paper is not moist. (it makes pale copies)
- the glass has you cleaned up. (it makes black background uneven)
- the transfer unit is not dirty. (it makes black background)

Xerox 4150 my paper is a light shade of grey, what can it be thank you

Giacomos,

Is the paper a shade of grey with no image? or is there an image with a grey background?
If there is a image with a grey background you should try a new toner module. If that doesn't resolve the issue, clean the xerographic drum, make 10 blank copies, if the cleaning doesn't resolve the issue than install a new xerographic module.

Hope this help.

Face of the timer doesn't indicate which numbers are a.m. and which are p.m., so how am I supposed to set the current time? There's an "8-4-12" that's not shaded and then an "8-4-12"...

You posted under Woods vacation timer:
See large image

This is a 7-day timer.
Days are printed on the dial.
Each day has night time with dark background and daytime in light background

If you want to set time for Monday at 12 noon, rotate dial clockwise until Monday 12 (in light background) line up with arrowhead located on inner dial.
After that, move switch to TIMER

Timer turns lights ON-and-OFF at random times throughout week

My minolta ep4000 giving black shad on one side of the paper

Usually caused by either dirty optics or a bad drum cleaning blade. If you lighten the exposure control to make the copy lighter, does the background go away? If so the the optics need to be cleaned. You just have to remove the large original glass by removing the 2 screws at the front and back side of the plastic guide that is at the left edge of the glass. Be careful not to lose the springs that are under the guide. Lift out the glass. With the POWER OFF on the copier just pull out the scanner bar that moves back and forth. There is one mirror on the first piece that slides out and 2 mirrors on the second part. Once cleaned just re-install everything and test.

You can do a test for the drum cleaning blade by running 10 copies of something. If the shaded area of the copy gets worse so that the last copy out is worse than the first copy out it is most likely the drum cleaning blade. Drum cleaning blades are like $30.00
Good Luck and Thank You for using Fixya.

My brother DPC 1000 is printing a dark background when copying. I have adjusted the contrast and nothing changes.

one of two things, either your drum is bad or your fuser.

one thing you can do to narrow it down, is make a copy and as the paper goes in almost all the way open the door. and take out the drum. some paper should be sticking out past the drum, if you still see the dark background, its probably your drum.

be careful, the toner has not been fused yet.
also, try cleaning the charge wiper by moving the tab left and right

If you are getting a grey back ground, this means you have the wrong setting- the scanner is seeing a 'photo' image. look at your controls for TEXT or LINE
