Could be caused by a bad DSP Farm PCI.

DigiTest may or may not report the problem. If possible, try running one Farm at a time to isolate this.

Pro Tools 4.1.1 will most likely throw a -9204 error, which is the -4 error offset by -9200 (this just indicates that it was passed through the DigiSystem INIT).

Hi

Well about guaranteed your 2 gigs ram is probably DDR II ram which has maximum of four gigs with 64 bit processing and 2 with 32 bit is. So motherboard needs upgrade. 35.00 for good giabit or board with 1000 megs a sec ethernet lan. With ddrIII ram. And upgrade operating system I believe win 8 has max 16 gig ram win 7 uses 8 gis vista and longhorn 64 use 4 and xp normal edition 32 bit uses 2 max. So you about have to run win 7 or 8. Win 7 will become direct x incomparable at some point making us change to win 8. Win8 cost like 300 to 350 and tiger direct.com has good deal of the win 7 pro media center for 75 bucks. So spend 150 on good speed 8 gig ram, 125 bucks for 12 core and at 4 GHz I think. And a board for 35. Reuse all other componets. And you\'ll have a 2500 dollar computer and best on the block. 8 gig of ram installed but win 8 pro 64 bit only see 4 gig, Win 7 Home Ultimate 64 bit had same result

Hello the homepage is here:

http://www.supermicro.com/products/motherboard/PD/955/PDSG4.cfm

Check for one of the modules is in place in the ram socket
and blow it out for dust with compressed air.
One of the modules could also have a defect.

The mainboard supports:
Up to 8GB dual channel unbuffered
ECC/non-ECC DDR2 667/533/400 MHz

Try also to upgrade the mainboard drivers with this tool:

Good luck

In my Windows 7 (2 gigs of RAM) machine, my mbox 2 pro will not play any sound, even though device manager says it is installed properly. In addition, when loading my protools le 8, I get error message...

Click start control panel administrive tools computer management then select event viewer depending on what operating sytem you have this may vary
extend the events there you will see errors in red you will no what exactly what the error was and at what time it occured you might have to uninstall then reinstall the program and its files
uninstall the program, reboot your computer, and then install the latest version again from scratch.
Then try uninstalling some unnecessary programs
also you could run the check disk utility
click start run type cmd then type chkdsk/r/f which will scan for and attempt to repair any bad sectors and automatically fix any corrupt files on your hard drive this should schedule to happen when you restart your computer then defragment your hard drive
do not do anything while chkdsk is in process any input will damage your computer
also you might download and use this registry cleaner it is totally free to use

hope this helps

I am not able to install protools in my Mac. My os is 10.4.11. I have downloaded the drivers needed for the OS but it gives me a pop box stating fatal OS.

Pro-Tools 8 and above requires an Intel-based Mac running OS 10.5.5 or later. The newest version you can use with Mac OS 10.4.x is ProTools 7.4, and the oldest version that will work with your hardware is 7.1. The complete system compatibility list is on the Avid site.

If you meet compatibility requirements, but get an installer error, you may have a corrupted download - try downloading again with no other network traffic from that computer during the download. If I read the download page correctly, most of the downloads are upgrade patches for previously installed versions rather than full installation packages. Attempting to run these without the older version in place will generate some sort of error. - how gracefully it is handled depends on the style, skill and diligence of the programmer.

You may also want to do a file system and permissions check on your computer with Disk Utility to make sure there are none of those problems causing hangups.

I dont know wat sort of ram to choose for this board because i am wanting to put in x6 4 gig ram ddr3 memory modules

running triple channel memory with more than 3 DDR3 1600 sticks installed (4-6) cuts the memory speed in half. you have to run with 3 sticks at a time in triple channel mode or you will see a reduction in ram speeds.

OCZ is making some good 4 gig ram sticks. they have a 12 gig triple channel memory kit with 3x4gig sticks. you could get 2 of these kits and have your 6 sticks- 24 gigs total, but your memory frequencies will be lower- your ram access will be slower.

Hi Reidmemusic

There are wide and varied reasons why you are getting this error, it is an indication of a plugin not responidng. Going through and disabling plugins may help you to find which one, and then reinstallation of the offending plugin should fix it. If not, then get back to me here with details of the plugin causing the problem and we shall go further

I have digi design 001 and I keep getting dae error 9073 on my protools

For those hitting the -9073's, a couple of urgent needs:

1. Please explain what Editing functions you are performing that cause -9073's. BESIDES creating fades, Audiosuite, Consolidating, or TCE Trim (as these all fire off background disk-writing processes, which we've confirmed can indeed cause -9073s.)

2. Open up Task Manager and keep an eye on it to perhaps catch some unexpected background tasks during Editing.

3. Does DAE buffer 4 ease the occurrences? (It does for me on 2 rigs: MacPro quad, HD3 and Powermac G5 dual 2.7, HD3).

Note: Using the "Pause Tasks during playback" (in Task Manager menu) is one method of holding off the -9073's, but it no means to I suggest that as a total solution.
