Clean under needle plate....lint ec, also under bobbin case. If this does not help, it isprobably due for a service....if you continue to use it in this condition it may well do serious damage and need replacement.

Did you replace the needle? Look at the hole in the plate and see if the sides are rough. If they are you may be able to cure them with your finger nail file. There is a hook under the plate that rotates or at least goes half way around. Remove this and check for marks that are rough, especially around the sharp end. If you find them you might be able to save it with some sand paper. Make sure you blow this area out and put a drop of sewing machine oil on the race (where the hook came from). Do all of these. If there is still a problem the needle arm may have gotten bent. Do all of these and you may save it yourself. Do one other thing. If your hook is too rough you can order a new one through the internet for about $ 25. You will only need the brand of sewing machine and model. Hope it works.

Consew 206rb thread breaks thread shreds

Did you look for a burr near the point of the needle?

If the surface of our needles is a thin layer of chrome it could break lose from the main body of the needle when we hit a zipper too fast leaving a rough spot but I think that constantly pulling a tight thread through the eye of the needle would after a while cut that thin layer ...

Model 1249 sews fins but has a squawking sound

Lint around the bobbin case is very likely...if issue persists, take to service centre as damaged bobbin case may need replacing, or more serious damage from broken needle jam etc

When you use the sewing machine it makes a grinding noise

It sounds as if a pin or some small object may have slipped down and gotten lodged in the workings of the sewing machine. This could become a serious issue if it is not remedied. Remove the bobbin area cover under the sewing foot to look inside. If the noise is coming from one of the completely encased areas on the right side of the machine, there may be a problem with the gears rubbing against each other (disalignment). If this is the case, and the machine is still under warranty, I would return it to the place where you purchased it. If not, I would try to take a look and see if anything is lodge in the workings. Grinding noises are not good when it comes to machinery.

Consew 230 sewing machine...will not pick up bobber thread

needle should be 16x257 Industrial machine needle with no flat side.
It does have a long groove on one side and a scallop just above the eye of the needle on the other side. On this machine the needle is inserted so that the long groove goes to the left and it threads left to right.
The thread breakage may be caused by a rough place on the hook. You need to turn the machine on it's back and look and feel all the way around the hook assembly. If you find a rough spot it can be removed with an emery stick. If it's not a rough spot, then the machine is probably out of time.

The bobbin grinds when I start to so

Sounds like a bobbin case related problem. Unplug the machine, then remove the needle plate to get access to the black bobbin case. Inspect the underside of it  VERY carefully for ANY marks or roughness. You can expect very fine 'scratches', but no chunks or rough bits. Now check the metal rim that the bobbin case sits on is PERFECTLY smooth. particularly look for any tiny burrs on the top or inside edge of the rim, or any sign of a needle hit. Should not be any! If there are, the mechanic shoul fix it at no extra cost cos he missed the problem. Whilst checking the bobbin case, look for ANY marks on the top surface of it. The SLIGHTEST mark WILL upset the sewing.

Hope this assists!
