Question about HP Computers & Internet

3 Answers

Due to processor failure, I had to replace my computer system. I am trying to install my HP Digital Sending Software (4.15) on my new system running Windows 7. There appears to be a number of problems which apparently are the lack of certain files. Initially I had a tremendous problem installing Microsoft SQL 2005 Express Server. I finally did manage to partially install the software. Now I keep getting the message: Access Denied...you may need to reinstall the software Please advise.

The problem is that the new system is running Windows 7 and there are a plethora of compatability issues.

I am trying to install Hewlett Packard Digital Sending Software version 4.15.

Has anyone any experience installing HP Digital Sending Software 4.15 on the new Windows 7 Ultimate?

Was that software a demo version (tho you may have the key) or a cd.

if it was downloaded i would recommend downloading it again at

https://h20392.www2.hp.com/portal/swdepot/displayProductInfo.do?productNumber=T1936AADEMO

if you do have the literature be sure you are meeting the system requirements.

also when you try to reinstall the software, right click on the install icon and select "run as administrator"

let me know further how you make out with that or if there are more details to add

If this is a brand new pc you should not have any problems with missing software!! If so contact the support line or return to the store you purchased it from. If it was just reformatted, whomever did the work didn't install all drivers properly and will need to install them. Also depending on what windows you had before and what software your running, some programs won't be compatible. You can go to the Microsoft Download center to download drivers for free but missing programs will not be free..

Unfortunately there is nothing you can do about the compatibility issues. You can upgrade your software to the windows 7 or you can uninstall the windows 7 and get the previous version or what you were running before. The problem is that when you uninstall explorer you can't access the internet to download 6 so you really need to kno what your doing before attempting this. I normally use my AOL software for internet browsing. You can uninstall it then go to AOL if you have the software on your PC to download the Explorer 6. Or you can try to save it to a CD/hard drive so its already on your PC. The problem is windows will see you have the newest version and won't let you install an older version on your pc so you have to delete it first or if you have a different PC try and download it and save to yours before deleting and then just run the new one when uninstalled. This is the only way. Their is no program to remove compatibility problems, that's why it tells you that upfront and you run at your own risk. Good luck

I was given an HP Mini 1120NR netbook as a gift. The system came with Linux OS installed. My system crashed due to a power failure while I was restoring my system and simulatneously charging my battery,...

first error is step on, never install OS with bad or dead battery
rule 1. so why not stop now and do step one right.
if battery is bad it must be removed and replaced.
as most are this old. ,never seen own old battery like this still good.

This LP stink, have one new parked in attic. hated it.
love Linux do but had the slug processor.
1.60 GHz Intel Atom Processor N270
see that processor, its not a real Intel top class processor
its toy grade.
this mini is setup to boot 2 ways
1 is ROM linux inside
and 2, vista?

mine has a rom imbedded Linux in it that runs using alt boot mode.
but is hard coded in the ROM.
called RESIDENT LINUX. (or techs call it Embedded)

is that failing? or the DVD OS failing?>
the note book can have
ROM LINUX (for ever, its in A CHIP, not HDD)
+ boot hdd linux. boot hdd, XP or Vista.
as you can see you could have 2 linux,
one in rom, and newer one in HDD.
but many linux made do not support the silly ATOM processor.

which OSs are you attempting.

why not buy the HP media kit installs.

https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-mini-1100-pc-series/3875650/model/3860343

here is the driver pages
the media kits are there too.

ask more questions, i played with mine awhile., before parking it.
the claim to fame on this unit
is hDD turned off
boot to rom LINUX and battery lasts 10 hours
can cruse web and read email, on ROM.
very crafty idea but processor is stinker.
maybe ill put in an SSD and see if it can run faster. next winter

Dell XP restart problem

This error comes due to 1. RAM problem or 2.Hard disk problem or 3.Software/device driver problem or some times 4.Virus problem.
First you run the system in safe mode (pressing F8 at booting) - restore the system (start-programs - accessories - system tools - system restore). PC will be restarted and if it runs well then fine. If not again run in safe mode- uninstall few softwares or utilities, clear the temporary files, few drivers - restart the PC it may run well. If it does not run in safe mode the problem may be due to virus or critical RAM problem (main suspects, as the error may be for different reason). Now you format the hard disk and install your applications and drivers one by one and restart and check whether the problem repeats. Failure with the step you should change the RAM. With all failures - motherboard should be repaired and you have to give to the service center.

J6480 fatal error 2753 MSI.dot4wrp during full driver install. I tried uninstalling al related hp drivers, all the HP advice. Disabled firewall, services etc. Do you have a solution that works?

you can try with installing the windows installer 4.5 and then try.. otherwise reinstalling windows might work because the error you are getting is related to installer.. and its a service of windows itself which is responsible for all the software installation..

Error Code: 2753 " Fatal Error or error MSI.dot4msi"

CAUSE:
Certain HP services (and associated DLL files) were somehow partially/improperly installed. (Possibly, from a previous failed install?)
The Windows services (files) were:
Pml Driver HPZ12 (C:\Windows\System32\HPZipm12.dll)
Net Driver HPZ12 (C:\Windows\System32\HPZinw12.dll)
The existence of these 2 files in the System32 directory was causing this error in my situation. Somehow, the installation script was not identifying that these files were already installed (or improperly installed) and failing to properly set them to be installed again.
SOLUTION:
Steps:
1) Check to make sure that the 2 Windows services above are not running (or not installed).
2) Rename/delete the 2 associated service DLL files (this will only be possible once the services are stopped)
3) Run the installation again.

HP Pavilion a1150y fans run when powered on but windows doesn't load, monitor, mouse and keyboard do not work. (Running Windows XP)

Believe it or not, it's due to a weak power supply. More specifically, weak voltage rail/s caused by failing Electrolytic Capacitors.

A bad computer power supply is about 70% of computer failure.

ALL the light use less than 1 Watt. EACH fan uses 2 to 3 Watts.

A processor uses 55 to 125 Watts. Depends on the make and model.

Since the power supply is weak, it doesn't have enough power to turn the processor on.
No processor, nothing to find the Boot record on the harddrive. Nothing to get the Operating System going. (Example: Windows XP)

No computer running, there is no signal to the monitor.
Just enough power to light lights, and spin fans.

HP Photosmart C5180 - Ink System Failure. Error Oxc18a0306

Try updating your drivers first:
Create a new folder on your desktop and name it newhpdrivers. Un-intall printer and printer software completely. Go to manufacturers website and navigate to their drivers/downloads or support menu. Select your model, choose the relevant software and download to the new folder you created on your desktop. Power down your computer. Reconnect the printer to the computer and turn printer on. Windows will detect new hardware and ask if you have the manufacturers install cd or a location to check for install files. Direct the wizard to your new software, follow the rest of the setup instructions and your done
